I wanted to find a piano teacher for my son. I’m not a helicopter parent at all and only wanted to be present during his first class just to understand if my son and his teacher were a good match. Not sure why but their policy did not allow the parents to be present at all. Well, I guess you don’t need new clients.

Our son is now receiving home piano lessons, and I adore his new instructor. However, he was at School of Rock for a year and my son mentioned that he was never told to use two hands. My piano instructor said he would never learn without doing this. He has learned somewhat at School of Rock, so I am not trying to be harsh. I’m tired when it comes to me and my family a lower standard of effort is put forward. Children need direction, instruction, and firmness. Everyone isn’t the same and if you’re an educator in any capacity, you have to do your best to meet that individual’s needs. But telling someone to use two hands is seems like a day one lesson. The thing is, I asked to be in the room to see how they teach. They do not allow parents in the room. This means the instructor gets to slack off while you don’t get to slack off with your payment to them.

The teachers and staff here are awesome. The program fosters teamwork, responsibility and collaboration. We came for the music, but it’s so much more. The kids have fun and gain confidence. So awesome to see them perform!

My daughter is a student at the School Of Rock, Short Pump. The staff at the school are wonderful! The method they use to teach the students is engaging and brings the fun back to the creative process. It’s also a great way to meet other kids that love music.🎶

We’ve been rocking out here for close to a year. Both kids are enrolled in weekly lessons. Summer camp was awesome. The staff has been helpful navigating schedule changes as they have come up! Thank you all for a great year!
