Excellent Tutankhamen immersive experience at the SECC, particularly loved the sitting and walking virtual reality parts. Lots of information to read, plus some real and replica artifacts. Lots of long queues between each section so be prepared for a lot of standing in queues particularly if you have mobility issues or a bad back, or a way too heavy handbag like me lol. There are lockers for jackets n bags at the entrance but cost about £3. Took us over well over 3 hours to go through the entire exhibit (not 90 mins as advertised). Luckily was allowed a bottle of water in but no other food or drink allowed, and no toilets once in the hall.I would say worth the money. Can get photos taken before you go in. Would say take the pics and decide in the shop at the end if you want to spend £12.50 on a photo or £12 for a keyring and magnet, and an extra £7 for all photos to download digitally. I splurged out as wanted a photo with my sister. NB I think the car parking can be expensive so maybe take public transport or you can park south of the river and walk over one of the bridges, top tip
A must-visit venue in Glasgow! The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is a fantastic place where you can experience everything under one roof — from live exhibitions and academic conferences to music concerts and cultural shows. The venue is modern, spacious, and perfectly organised for large events. There are plenty of food options featuring local and international cuisines, along with brand shops nearby for a complete day out. The parking facilities are excellent, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Whether you’re here for a professional event or leisure, the SEC offers a great atmosphere and seamless experience every time. Highly recommended!
Very large venue, went to the Tutankhamen exhibition. Lots of artifacts on display some replicas and some genuine. The VR section was mind blowing as was the immersive room. Absolutely good value for the money. There could have been little cheap trinkets for the little children.
This was fantastic! I saw a few negative reviews before attending so I was a bit worried, but if anything it was beyond my expectations. The VR sections were great, I just wish the one where you are Howard Carter was a little longer because I was still investigating things when the images moved on. The staff were very funny and friendly, and even provided latex free headsets, which is great since I have a latex allergy. If you have any interest in Egyptology at all or just want to do something completely different for a few hours then this is definitely worth a visit!
Wonderful experience here with plenty of staff on hand to help and direct where to go and how to do the things set up for enjoying this 14 week only Egyptian Pharaoh. If you love Egypt then this is definitely for you. Such a great thing put on here. My only cherry on the cake would’ve been that the Pharaoh and Anubis came as 4D and reached out to you. But that’s just a small beside the overall greatness put on here!
