As a former north county resident, Sea Hive is always on the visit list! I love perusing the goodies, usually purchasing a hidden treasure at a reasonable price, and the staff is usually more than accommodating to unlock cases and help with any questions I have. The last time though, I asked for help unlocking a case explaining there were different turquoise rings from a few cases I wanted to see and the worker seemed somewhat annoyed that they had to keep going and getting keys. She also asked, “Which cases” and I had no context for that really other than saying something like, “One of the cases in middle of the middle room.” I didn’t end up buying a ring because after having three cases unlocked I felt too bad asking for more. Maybe the keys could be kept on a key ring or something so it’s less of a hassle for the workers?
I finally decided to stop at Sea Hive Marketplace and I’m so happy I did. It’s like walking down memory lane from the 60’s and 70’s era. There are so many fun things and some weird but it’s a very fun place and you could spend hours here looking through things. The store doesn’t look that big from the street but the inside goes on forever. Each section of the store is individually run by various vendors. Outside behind the parking lot was an area with lots of vintage clothing.
This place looks like it's a pretty normal sized store from the road but the building actually goes really far back and is packed with vendors. Lots of artwork, vintage books, jewelry, hats, and of course clothes (both men's and women's clothes). Soft leather jackets in perfect condition, cashmere lounge pants - just so many treasures. Editing to add the staff was also lovely and kept taking things to the counter for me so I could explore without knocking things over with clothes and statues I was carrying.
Accessibility: there is a large parking lot with plenty of space. It is located on flat ground, wheelchair accessible. They do have a restroom inside, but im not sure if that is wheelchair accessible. There is a changing room/dressing room inside (see photo). Experience: such an awesome place! They have something of everything! Clothing, hats, jewelry, cards, trinkets, antiques, furniture, candles, oils, soaps, lamps, home goods, notebooks, records, crystals, everything! I could spend 2 hours looking at everything, but unfortunately I didn't have that time today. I'll have to come back soon! The female employees are all so sweet.
