My family and I have done quiet alot of business at Serio's throughout the years and always had great communication and great craftsmanship. However I had moved away from the area and hadn't been in for a long time. I recently needed a detailed appraisal for a very special ring and needed it quick! I thought at this time of year, no chance! But I remembered Sergio's and made a call to them! Boy I'm so glad I did! I brought the piece in that same day around 5pm and received the very detailed and complete appraisal within 24 hours! On pick up I was able to speak to the in house designer (Sergio's son) on some other pieces and look at some original designs of his and was quite impressed! I really just find this family owned jewelry store to be a very caring and special place with an emphasis on customer service. I have always been very satisfied with all the pieces I've bought and or customer/repair work done, spanning over 30 years! This is not a cookie cutter corporate store, Sergio's is family owned, legacy store. They re-earn by business everytime I walk into store! Thank you 😊
I don’t leave negative reviews, but when my husband called to give this feedback over the phone, the jeweler was rude and then hung up on my husband. To the jeweler who wouldn’t talk on the phone, this is why we were dissatisfied: I brought in 2 rings for repairs, one being my engagement ring that needed the prongs tightened around the center stone and a diamond added to the halo. A week later, I picked up and paid for both rings, and then got home to realize they had not even touched the engagement ring as there was still a missing diamond and loose prongs. 2nd trip- I was very understanding and returned to the store the following day to let them know they completely abandoned the job I paid for. The woman at the front was kind about it and apologized which I appreciated -which is all I was really looking for. I can deal with mistakes and dissatisfaction when treated respectfully. The same week I noticed the diamond they added to the halo looked out of place from the others. I could see it with my bare eyes while driving in the car. After taking a photo I could see the diamonds did not look aligned and were two different sizes, so I brought it back. 3rd trip - the jeweler told me that due to missing gold, this was as good as it gets and they do replacements that look like this all the time. I said if he knew it was not going to be repaired to look how it did before, that should have been communicated to me rather than having me pay for the service to receive an uneven diamond that’s noticeable to my eye. My biggest issue was how rude he was and his inability to take any accountability or acknowledge that the diamonds do not look the same size or are aligned. He said it looked fine to him and adding gold would make it look worse, so there was no point to mention it. I refuted that he is the jeweler and expert, so again, he should have let me know my options and that it wouldn’t be repaired to look the original state rather than taking my money and giving me back a worse looking ring. The icing on the cake was I asked him to clean my rings while I was there, since I had made 3 trips now. He cleaned them and handed them to me. I said thank you, he didn’t even make eye contact or respond to me back which was incredibly rude. I walked the whole way to the door waiting for him for respond but he didn’t. My husband called the store to express his dissatisfaction and share his feedback but the jeweler had the same rude attitude. When my husband said it was rude to not respond to me when I said thank you he said “I did!” Which is simply a lie. After lying, he hung up on my husband which again showed his character more than his words had. I cannot believe how unprofessional and rude this man is. It would have been an entirely different experience if he would have not gotten defensive, not been rude, apologized and explained the options. Instead he was disrespectful to me, and hung up on my husband when he called to share his feedback. Because he did not allow us to give the feedback via phone call, I am left having to review him here.
First time going to Sergio's. I brought in two very significant rings for repairs and they made quick work of fixing them both. Local shop, reasonable prices, and my rings look better than before! Super pleased and will be taking all my jewelry and watch repairs here from now on.
I really do not like leaving negative reviews but I feel this is necessary. I brought in my engagement ring and wedding band to have it sized down 2 sizes. I was told the style of the band was not able to be sized down in a traditional way. I was told they could size it down but it would come out with a flat bottom side. The other option I was given was to remake the ring and schedule with their designer. I am still losing weight so I decided to go with the size down option that would be flat on the bottom and remake the ring at a later date. When I went to pick up the rings I was quite shocked with what that did to my rings. It was so terrible and squished my finger like a pancake. They did warn me of this but was not expecting it to be this atrocious. I couldn’t wear the rings because they hurt and several months later decided to take it to another jeweler to have it remade because I thought it was my only option. I knew I did not want Sergio’s to remake it. The new jeweler was completely shocked when she saw what was done with my rings. She said she has never seen anything like this and there is no issue in resizing these rings down. She said maybe a side diamond would come loose during the process but no issue in placing them back. Come to find out my ring was not sized at all by Sergio’s but simply squished down flat. My new ring size is an 8 and it was squished to a size 6. I thought it was odd when at Sergio’s they asked to measure my knuckle size, makes sense so they knew how flat they could go. I got my rings back today and they are beautiful and back to their normal round shape . Maybe they are ok for small repairs and simple sizing but I would not bring anything of value here. I have attached photos of what they did to my rings and how they were repaired after.
