Yesterday I was at a concert with the legend Chris Botti, whom I've been following for over 20 years. The show was incredible. I waited more than two decades for this opportunity. Coincidentally, Chris asked if there were any musicians in the audience, and I raised my hand because I am a musician. The manager, named Katy, prevented me from going to Chris. I believe this was part of the show, calling someone from the audience. I was very sad because I missed this unique opportunity to be face-to-face with one of my favorite artists. Thank you, Katy, for ruining the immersion of the show for me the first time I've ever been to this show in this auditorium. You got it, I will never forget that! ————————————————————————————- Answering you! I couldn't reply to your response, so I'm replying in an edit of the post. I'm not sure if he wanted me to play with him, but everyone who was there at the time saw the moment when Chris himself invited me to go down there. That's a fact! Since I'm polite, I preferred to ignore the situation and go back to the balcony. So don't lie saying that he himself prevented me from going there, since he was the one who invited me... I didn't invite myself! And the manager was super rude to me, by the way. Thank you for the invitation, but I won't go back to places that have this kind of treatment. It wasn't Chris's fault, he was very clear when he called me over. The fact that he wanted me to play with him was my assumption, I want to make that clear.
We have been attending concerts here for years, usually seeing 4 shows a season. One of the best venues in the United States. There is no such thing as a bad seat at Miner Auditorium. Our most recent was January 10, 2026 for an amazing Chris Botti performance. Be sure to dine locally pre-show - there are some great restaurants in the area.
San Francisco has a good jazz scene their venues where you can catch local talent, no shortage of that, as well as names, but the San Francisco Jazz Center has become a favorite stop of mine. I’ve seen several artists there and including Ron Carter, his Quartet and most recently art tour ascend all and men he was mesmerizing. He was so energetic so fun. I sit in the balcony of the main hall and you’re removed, but the acoustics are tremendous, and you have clear views of the stage and it’s affordable comparatively for me. I look forward to the calendar this year and support the arts in San Francisco with the jazz center and it’s board and performers deserve our time, our money and our attention
Loved the performance and a light show that matched the music. But our seats on the 3rd level on the side were not good. Just to get a view of the stage you had to lean over the railing. If only there weren't big steel beams and mechanical equipment that really obscured the stage and performance fromtheseseats. Disappointing as the music was great. The light show matched the beat of the music. My advice: sit elsewhere if you can.
11 6.25 Bria Skonberg was AMAZING! The pianist was soooo incredible. I need to find his name. He was French and a graduate of Juilliard. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
