I have to agree with reviwer Ernesta Morris on this and couldn't figure out how to reply to you tag wise, but wish that you didn't have to experience that at a place that associates with Buddhist philosophies either, as sadly this is a common theme with women I know that are involved with social justice, or are from a variety of different backgrounds that are nit stereotypically privileged. I didn't feel comfortable at this center either unfortunately and after dealing with some pretty strange behavior too, over time, I called it finally too with the priveledge white male supremecy behaviors still. It is sad as the ties to sexual assault cases that the founding members perpetuated doesn't necessarily help. Not all centers are like this and, Plum Village has a history of social activism and restorative justice oriented practice and in that way, conguency that I feel is so valueable nowadays in our climate of prioritizing money over safety and manipulation over transparency. I myself love the centers and communities that walk the walk not just talk the talk in addressing these matters as it can be done respectfully. I have tried several times, and this hindered safety fir me there too as it felt incongruent.
