I have been part of the Shambhala community since 2011. That has included memberships in New Haven, CT and Tucson, Arizona. From the get-go I have been disappointed with the Tulsa, OK branch. I experienced the ethos as "smug" and felt "harassed" by a person in the administration providing unasked-for advice. I stopped going. Then I decided to give it another try. This time I have made up my mind not to return to this branch ever again. I don't know enough about the way Shambhala is managed. If I did I would report this harassment to those overseeing the community. This has been traumatic. I ask those whose mission it is in OK to oversee the center to investigate this behavior.

The Shambhala teachings have helped me align with the inherent virtuous human qualities. This is incredibly helpful and practical in my daily life. I feel more relaxed and appreciative for all life.

I am the Director of the Group and have been a long time student of both Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The group here is very inviting, warm, and accepting. We have frequent programs, public offerings, and opportunities to gather as a community. Tuesday night is open sitting with meditation instruction provided at no cost. Come and check us out.
