It is a great place. But I'm a stack like Chuck. I ran out of gas. I've been trying some hard not to run out of gas. But you know times are hard. My van has been here for two months and three days. But the park goers and staff have been kindfull. If anyone out there can feel my pain , pls come and give me a helping hand. Maybe you will enjoy making a new friend.ME !!! So see ya soon. PEACE.
Very crowded part surprisingly the bathrooms had a hand dryer. And clean and clean.
On google when you ask for pickleball courts this pops up I can confirm that the tennis courts are not lined for pickleball
The men's outdoors restroom by the playground The kids playground is terrible needs to be taken better care of other than that and the park tennis courts need to be redone haven't been done in about 20 years I don't know why all the other LA City parks tennis courts has been done but Shatto Park has never been done recently within the last year I know there was a bond for LA City to have tennis courts and stuff redone but for some reason Shatto Park was missed. LA City need to do something about the homeless encampment adjacent to the tennis court it can be a lot better place and make people feel more comfortable being there because you shouldn't have to see indecent exposure of growing adults men and women coming out of their tents.
Best kept secret...One of the few "wonderful community spaces" left in the City....great rentable space for events. Sight of the Annual Bangladeshi Parade of Dignitaries...Politicians... Celebrities...and Community Leaders...through the streets of Little Bangladesh. Sergio, the Overseer is "simply put" a wonderful human being. Helpful and kind. Rolls his sleeves up! And...did I mention...the "home cooked" marvelous food? There is a full kitchen and service area. Other than being an excellent space to rent from the City for an event, there's S-P-O-R-T-S to be played here! Open...free real park space...tennis courts with night lights...
