Shields was a good time and the server although it was slow was on it. She recommended I get the dry rub wings and she was so right. Great lunch before we headed to the Michigan science center.

Shield's Restaurant Bar serves Detroit-style deep-dish square pizza. We visited on a Friday for lunch after spending the morning at the Detroit Institute of Arts and were looking for a Detroit Pizza. The restaurant has a nostalgic feel, loaded with sports memorabilia, fun pictures, quotes, and TVs. Service was fast, friendly, and upbeat. We called ahead for a Greek salad and a Detroit pizza, and it was ready soon after our arrival. The salad was top-notch, and the pizza was high quality; however, it was undercooked and doughy. Next time, we'll make sure to have our pie cooked a couple of minutes extra.

First time visiting this location was after a football game and on a Sunday. The food was delicious, generous portions, served hot and not too long of a wait considering they were very busy. We had leftovers- LOL. Our server was friendly, attentive and quick to bring us whatever we asked for at the time. The BBQ sauce on the ribs was flavorful and tasty. The Loaded nachos (pictured) were well worth the price and will fill you up. I ordered the ribs, and this order did not disappoint. The only drawback would be that I received a menu with pizza sauce on it, and I thought the restaurant needed a bit more lighting. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and I would definitely visit this location again. My visit was in early November 2025.

Amazing service and atmosphere. Staff were very nice and accommodating, and the manager complimented our Halloween costumes! Enjoyed the decor inside and all. Admittedly I did not do my research on the type of pizza served— so unfortunately the food was not for me. Bread sticks and wings looked amazing though!! Would definitely go back to try other things.

We did a lot of research for the best spot to get Detroit style pizza and it was a toss up between here and Buddy's. We are SO glad we stopped in here! Service was impeccable! Bella and her trainee JJ were so kind and were very helpful with our indecisiveness. They made us feel like family! The pizza...amazing is not a strong enough word. We built our own with half veggie, half pepperoni and jalapenos on the side with the spicy gold medal sauce. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we also ordered the cheesy bread and wings (also very, very good) Atmosphere is fantastic and a great vibe. Good drinks and people!
