Unfortunately, my experience at this indoor ice rink was very disappointing. The visitor entry process is extremely poorly organized. There are multiple lines with no clear indication of where they lead, and there is no proper signage or guidance. As a result, people who arrive later simply walk around the line and cut in front of others, creating frustration and complete chaos. The ticket counters are poorly marked, making it unclear where to line up. After purchasing tickets, there is yet another long line — this time to get skates. The skates provided are the cheapest and most uncomfortable ones. They have toe picks that make skating very difficult. Considering that most visitors are beginners, it would make much more sense to offer simpler, hockey-style skates that are easier and safer for novice skaters. Another major disappointment was the session timing. After we finally got on the ice and started skating, we were told to leave because the ice resurfacing was about to begin. The session had just started — only 30–40 minutes had passed. Why wasn’t the ice resurfaced before the session began? Yes, there is a second rink on the premises, and many people moved there. However, during my previous visit, that rink was occupied by hockey players, so there is no guarantee it will actually be available. I visited this place two years ago and hoped that things would have improved by now. Unfortunately, the organization has only gotten worse. With this level of service, I have no desire to return.

Kids had fun! We liked how they played games during the session! Very cold inside! Next time will bring more layers to keep warm!

Fun but way too crowded.

So many fantastic memories with Skatetown Ice Arena! From learning to ice skate and play hockey to purchasing ice skates and having a birthday party there a few years back, Skatetown is a great local rink. Highly recommend!

This place should be avoided for all hockey players. It supports junior hockey at the minimum level. Look forward to the next generation of kids having a welcomed place to play at the new Folsom complex, something my son and his teammates didn’t receive. Owner will be banning me since I have receipts he has done it before. Good riddance brett
