Fantastic. The instructors are open and conversational with an offer for feedback back at just the right time. They watch but let you learn your way. SBAP is a small community of people from all levels of academic ceramic education as well as years of practice experience. They have several electric kilns and also perform Raku firings with parts to build a wood fired kiln this spring hopefully. They don't judge in the slightest and believe art is what you make it. Try date night Fridays and Saturdays.

Couples date night - clay wheel 101 Janie was a great guide through the difficult art of clay wheel. She helped us learn how to center and shape, and we ended up with some pretty pieces. Excited to see the finished product! Thanks and would recommend.

We went for the pottery date night. I believe our teacher was named Jamie (sp?). She was great and it was so apparent how skilled she was. I didn't quite "get it down" when it came to making something (so close!), but my wife made some nice pieces. Looking forward to picking up the fired pieces.

If you’re looking for a fun activity for date night, this delivered. If you expect to receive the pottery back that you created after SBAP fires it, go somewhere else. The date night pottery wheel class was great, especially our instructor. However when we returned a month later to pick up the pieces we created, one of them was “misplaced”. In addition to $120 for the class, I paid an additional amount to have 4 pieces fired instead of just 3. They would not refund my additional fee after losing my bowl. They told me to pick something off of the free shelf. I don’t want someone else’s poetry. I want my art. It was even personalized with initials. Our instructor told us if something were to break in the process they would let us know and give us options for remaking it or refund. That was dishonest.
