I had a disappointing experience with this salon and wanted to share it in the interest of transparency for future clients. Last Thursday, I called to inquire about pricing for an all-over color and a haircut. I was quoted $144 for the color and $175 total with the haircut. Based on that information, I booked an appointment for Friday. Shortly after, I was contacted to adjust the time due to a scheduling error, but I was flexible and confirmed the new time. I also arranged childcare in order to make the appointment work. When I arrived, I was seated and my stylist, Lexi, began a consultation. During this process, she mentioned she would need to provide a quote, which caught me off guard since I had already been given pricing over the phone. While I understand that final pricing can vary—especially with long and thick hair—I expected a reasonable adjustment, as that has been my experience at other salons. For context, I wasn’t requesting a complex or highly technical service. My hair is long and thick, with my natural dark brown color from the roots to mid-length, and older brown color on the ends from about a year and a half ago. I was simply looking for an all-over dark chocolate color, not balayage, highlights, or any intricate color work. However, I was then quoted between $622–$650 for the service. While I respect that there may be professional reasons for pricing at that level, the difference between the original $175 quote and the final estimate was significant and unexpected. My main concern is the lack of clear communication upfront. If pricing can vary this drastically based on hair length, thickness, or the need for additional work, that should be clearly explained during the initial phone call. Asking a few basic questions about hair type and current color could help provide clients with a much more accurate expectation before booking. Ultimately, I left feeling frustrated after taking time out of my day, arranging childcare, and arriving for an appointment that ended up being far outside the scope of what I was initially told to expect. I hope this feedback helps improve communication for future clients.

New to the area and so happy I found this place. I had visited another salon in South Tampa in Oct. but they are always booked months in advance and I just needed a cut and blow out. I found the perfect place. Ambrosia was my stylist and I am so happy with my results. This is now my go to place and the staff is great. They were able to fit me in without an appointment and Ambrosia was happy to take care of me. The other styists were also doing great work. I highly recommend!
