The best thing about this place are the people who work here. They seem to genuinely like working here and it translates to how they offer help to customers. The atmosphere is family and they remember you when you return. As to the prices of foods...well, it is expensive. But we're also a long way from home so...
I ordered food online and it was so good. I think their USP is puff puff. I have gained extra 10inches from relishing thoses goodness.😂😂. Sorry. I forgot to take pictures, but they were really good. The Moimoi looks good too. Plantain leaf Moimoi. I have not had it since I left Nigeria. My first experience. I am impressed. Just give them a trial.
As someone who reviewed this place 6 years ago and has been a customer for 10+ years with my mom,I always come for their designer stew. It used to be sooo spicy and flavor filled in 2017-2019! After Covid the quality went down but it was still edible I think they changed chefs. Fast forward to today, the designer stew is absolutely horrible. It tastes like boiled water. I could’ve made this better at home. No taste no salt no spice. I think chef was changed once again. Asked for refund or exchange. They declined. I don’t think I’ll come here for hot food anymore, although the fish was very tasteful! Rice is also overcooked at the bottom and there was a weird employee man there, I had to leave because of him.
Grocery store specializes in selling African goods. Their products range from fresh produce to fully cooked meals. In my most recent visit I decided to get baked fish with rice. The food was actually tasted better than I remembered. I’m sure almost every Nigerian in Houston has been here at least one.
Love the variety and the feeling of being transported to Nigeria once you walk through the door. A little expensive though but then it's probably to cover the cost of importing the foodstuff. The freshly baked 9ja style bread was heavenly. Couldn't wait to get home to tear out a piece, squeeze it and take a bite. Yes i ate some in the car lol.
