My super anxious mini Dachshund loves daycare at SRD and comes home exhausted every single time! The first time he ever fell asleep in the car was on the way home from daycare, I can't thank the team -- esp AJ and Noah -- enough for how loving and understanding they are with my dramatic little showman!!
Our dog Toffi absolutely loves this dog hotel, he gets so excited when we arrive and never wants to go home! He has been coming here for several years and whenever we go on holiday he stays for the whole trip. He always comes back looking happy, relaxed, and perfectly cared for. They truly look after our boy like one of their own , I would say proper Spoilt Rotten dogs treatment. The staff are always warm, friendly, and happy to help with anything we need. We couldn’t imagine a better place for Toffi. Thanks to SRD once again. We see you next week! :-)
Extremely disappointing and traumatic experience We trialed day care at Spoilt Rotten Dogs at 358 Norton St, Lilyfield for our two dogs in February 2025. I am posting this review now because after using personalised pet sitters many times since then, we have consistently found much better services and care elsewhere. We used to naively think all dog hotels were the same, but not anymore. From the moment we arrived, we experienced poor customer service. The young man at the entrance had very poor communication skills and did not inspire any confidence about the level of care our dogs would receive. Our two dogs came home from the trial day extremely stressed. We later learned they had been kept in the same room with more than 50 dogs all day in cramped, noisy conditions. After speaking with other pet parents, it appears this is not an isolated situation for this facility. One of our dogs was so distressed that he ate his own faeces that same evening, something he has never done before. Our vet confirmed this can occur when a dog experiences severe stress. Our other dog showed a different but equally alarming reaction. He refused to eat and would not void for almost 24 hours after we returned home. Both behaviours were so concerning that we took them to the vet the next day. From a veterinary and professional perspective, placing such a large number of dogs together in one confined space increases the risk of infectious diseases, stress behaviours, anxiety, and trauma. The noise, overstimulation and lack of individual attention can have serious effects on a dog’s physical and mental wellbeing. We understand that the institution's owners are likely trying to manage rising operational costs in challenging economic times, and running such a business is not easy. However, the wellbeing of the animals must come first. Overcrowding may benefit the business financially, but it directly compromises the health, safety, and emotional stability of the dogs in their care. If you are a pet parent who genuinely cares about your dog’s wellbeing, I strongly recommend personalised pet sitting options such as MadPaws or choosing a dog hotel with strict capacity limits. Based on our experience, we would not return to this facility. This review is also meant as constructive feedback for the management. We genuinely hope this encourages improvements in capacity control, staff training, and welfare standards. Long term trust from pet parents depends on consistent, safe, and compassionate care, and we believe making these changes would benefit both the business and the dogs who stay there.
I couldn’t be happier with Spoilt Rotten Dogs! The team is so warm, caring, and professional – they truly treat every pup like family. My dog always comes home happy, relaxed, and well-looked after. The daycare is clean, safe, and full of activities that keep the dogs stimulated and social. I really appreciate the regular updates and the genuine love they show for every dog. It gives me total peace of mind knowing my fur baby is in such good hands. Highly recommend to any dog owner looking for a trustworthy and loving daycare! 🐾💛
Thank you to the team at Spoilt Rotten Dogs for looking after Toby who has just finished 3 weeks boarding. Toby is a 9 year old spoodle who has stayed at Spoilt Rotten Dogs, from time to time since he was 1. He has always been very happy staying there. It was great being able to check in on instagram to see how well he had settled in and that he was having a good time with his doggie friends. It was reassuring to know I was leaving leaving Toby in such excellent care.

Where every dog gets the royal treatment!
