For: Good customer service. Pleasant over the phone. Mostly good reviews from other users (the reason we picked them). They rang to discuss service options before carrying them out. They were apologetic and re-inspected the oil sump after a problem with their work was discovered. Against: They forgot to tighten the sump plug which could have damaged the engine. Fortunately we spotted it in time. They booked it in on thurs but weren't able to look at it until friday which caused some stress and hassle. Felt a bit on the expensive side. Summary: I couldn't recommend. If they'd have offered a partial refund that would've been appropriate.
**UPDATE: RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENT** I would like to respond to the owner's false comment on my review. Firstly, as a willing customer contacting your garage and requesting to pay for your services and having a lengthy phonecall with your business - I am more than entitled to review your poor service. Secondly, I stopped at writing a negative review here but won't hesitate to share feedback across other platforms when a business owner is strangely telling lies about the content of my simple request today for no apparent obvious reason. Thirdly, the mistruths I feel I need to address in your comment are that 1. I never at any stage told you a mechanic carried out "several sensor repairs" on my vehicle. What utter nonsense! Quite the opposite. I merely stated a mechanic did a dpf flush on my car and a couple of days later a diagnostic on the car showed a fault code relating to the back pressure sensor reading. 2. I gave you a valid reason for why the mechanic had legitimate reasoning to not be able to attend to my car right now. (Not that it should matter as normally when you have a fault code on your car and are asking for help, it doesn't require such interrogation and one doesn't typically expect to be told to go elsewhere. 3. I didn't have any reason to question the mechanic's workmanship. This is silly lies and totally unnecessary. To summarise, I contacted your business and asked if you could check the back pressure sensor readings on my car and fit a new sensor (if one was even required) explaining that whilst an amber engine light had appeared, it had since gone off again. As soon as you told me to go back to the mechanic who ran the diagnostic to do the work, I explained I obviously couldn't because of his personal reason for not attending to work right now and hence why I was phoning your garage in the first place! Lol. You very quickly said "I can't take that on. I don't have the manpower. You've had a lot of work done by someone else." And I politely reminded you - I'm not sure if you've misunderstood me but "I've only had a DPF FLUSH and a DIAGNOSTIC on my car." I went on to specifically emphasise that for very valid reasons my mechanic could not replace a sensor that he intended to return to check. Either you are strangely lying about our chat today or you don't take the time to listen to what a customer is saying on the other end of the phone. Either one is poor customer service and reason to avoid a similar experience to the rude phonecall I received today. I note a year ago, a different customer left a similar review whereby they too were seemingly confused at why they were told "I wouldn't take that on" so quickly. They were the very words you said to me today when I asked for a simple check up for reassurance on my car ahead of an upcoming mot I had booked in. It was impolite but the lies are unnecessary now. Original (truthful) review below. Rang Sterrets today and explained another mechanic had done a dpf flush on my car and read a diagnostic code of faulty back sensor pressure a few days afterwards. Explained the mechanic couldn't get back to fit a new sensor and I was looking for a mechanic to check the car over now that the amber engine light has went off again and returned to normal. Was really surprised when the response was "We wouldn't take this on. Not when you have had a mechanic do all that work on the car. You'd need a specialist." I explained that the only work done on the car was a straightforward dpf flush but it didn't seem to matter. Bit of a disappointing result for a mechanics garage with great reviews. Who'd have thought a check up on a car that had previously displayed an amber engine light would be such a complex job these days.
Really appreciate how these lads run their business. Gareth 100% transparent with any issues the team have dealt with and always gives options with how to proceed rather than surprising me with a massive bill at the end of the job. I’ve had two different cars in with them now and the bills are always very reasonable and fully justified. Can’t recommend them enough! Cheers lads
I’ve been using this garage for years, and they’ve always been professional, efficient, and easy to book in with. Recently had some suspension work done — after picking the car up, it didn’t feel quite right, but they were quick to stand over their work and make adjustments at no extra cost. That level of honesty and customer care is hard to find these days. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for repairs or maintenance — highly recommended!
Hello Gareth,I want to express my sincere thanks for the excellent service for my recent MOT and the car passed without any defects. I would highly recommend this garage to anyone looking for reliable, professional, and trustworthy car servicing and repairs. Thank you once again for your fantastic work. I'll certainly be back for future services.
