Our instructor, Dave was simply amazing! So beyond personal and approachable with any kind of question. He was able to explain with solid understanding and application from the eyes of teenager. I feel confident saying my girls are safe, conscientious and alert drivers due to their driving lessons.

Our driving instructor was amazing with our daughter. Dave helped her become very confident behind the wheel. She looked forward to the lessons. I would highly recommend Dave for any new driver.

We can’t say enough great things about Dave from Stevens Driving School—he is absolutely phenomenal. From the very first lesson, he created a calm, supportive environment that instantly put our daughter at ease. Learning to drive can be stressful, but Dave has a way of making everything feel manageable and even enjoyable. What really sets Dave apart is his patience and ability to explain things clearly. No matter how many questions she (or even mom) asked, he never once seemed frustrated—just encouraging and focused on helping her improve. He breaks down each skill step-by-step, making even the trickiest maneuvers feel achievable. Beyond his teaching skills, Dave is incredibly personable and genuinely cares about his students’ success. He builds confidence in a way that sticks with you long after the lesson ends. Thanks to him, our daughter not only passed her driving test but she also feels safe and confident on the road. If you’re considering driving lessons, do yourself a favor and ask for Dave. He’s the kind of instructor who turns a nerve-wracking experience into a positive, empowering one. Truly outstanding! Thank you Dave!!

Despite being one of the top rated driving schools in Buffalo, New York, my experience with Steven's Driving School was HORRENDOUS! I had purchased the 10 lesson package which in my opinion was heavily overpriced, but I digress. My instructor, Richard initially was a cool guy, and I had expressed to him that I had never been behind the wheel before so he'd have to expect a bit of driving anxiety. This was all understood during the first two lessons, but by the third lesson, things took a turn for the worse. During my remaining lessons, Richard would make very sarcastic comments which would target my driving skills, get annoyed when I asked questions for clarifications, and he would also get mad when I would do something in error. Not only did this type of behavior impact my driving anxiety negatively, but I would leave my lessons almost in tears and apprehensive about the following lessons. I even called the School and filed complaints, and their resolution was to get me assigned to another instructor, but I would face delayed scheduling as the new instructor will have different availability than the one I was currently assigned to. At this point my back was against the wall, and without a satisfying resolution, I continued my instruction with Richard At the end of my 10 lessons, Richard sarcastically remarked that he didn't feel as though I was ready for the road test and that if I took it when I had planned today, he didn't see much of a likeliness of me passing. Though I understand that it's in the instructor's best interest to determine the student's readiness, Richard's comment was of pessimistic nature and made me doubt my own capabilities. As a New York City native, I wondered on numerous occasions if it was worth scheduling this exam with Steven's, or just waiting till I returned home. Ultimately, I decided to schedule my road test for August 2025 (and on other occasions), and I expressed my concerns to the receptionist's attention, and even she was sarcastic and very dismissive. It's as if as a PAYING STUDENT my feelings and experience was invalidated solely based on the high ranking status that Steven's has received in the past. Nevertheless, last Thursday I was finally able to pass my exam after almost a year of hell with Steven's, and I owe my passing to one of their competitors in Buffalo, New York. Despite receiving recommendations from locals, I will never recommend this school to anyone unless they're looking to be overpriced, invalidated and/or dismissed Lastly, as a company that has emphasized the importance of them striving to ensure the success of their students, they sure as heck cared more about my money than my success.

My daughter took their online 5-hour pre-licensing course on a Friday, certificate was in my hand on Monday; very quick turn around time for certificate which helped me in scheduling her road test sooner then I expected. Course was very thorough, female instructor was well versed on the material and addressed all concerns and questions. Will definitely use their service again when my youngest turns 16 in a couple years.
