Finally made it to STK at the Marriott Marquis DC, and it lived up to the hype. Fun fact: I went to an STK preview before the brand even officially opened years ago, and I was a regular at the old Dupont Circle location, so I had high expectations. This was my first visit to this location, and when a friend snagged reservations after I’d seen some great videos, I was all in. Yes, it’s a splurge meal, but the experience delivers. The cocktails were excellent, the vibe is very “STK,” and the ambiance is sleek, energetic, and extremely Instagram-friendly. Right when you walk in, there’s a video booth where you can choose filters and record short clips. We may have used it more than once, and the videos are emailed to you instantly. Loved that touch. Shoutout to our server Mark, who was genuinely kind, attentive, and made the night even better. We started with the bread and chive oil, then shared several appetizers including truffle fries, Brussels sprouts w/bacon, creamed spinach, lobster mac & cheese, calamari, mushroom arancini, and tuna tartare tacos. They were out of the corn and crab fritters (a little disappointing), but everything we ordered was delicious and well executed. Most of the table ordered steak. While I’m not a big steak person, even I had to admit the steaks were excellent. One friend ordered the filet with lobster butter, which was melted tableside over the steak. Very cool presentation. I went with the shrimp scampi and really enjoyed it. For dessert, we shared the chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream. Rich, indulgent, and perfect for sharing. Overall, a great night and a solid experience. This is definitely a spot I’d return to, especially for celebrations or special occasions. You can go anytime, but for me, it’s the kind of splurge that feels best when you’re celebrating something or just want a really nice dinner. In this case, we were celebrating friendship. ✨🍸🥩
First time having dinner at STK and I was highly impressed. Everyone usually talks about happy hour, but dinner truly exceeded expectations. We tried the holiday menu and everything was delicious—turkey, lobster, ribeye, duck, and the holiday drinks were all on point. The duck was my favorite bite of the night, and the Wagyu dumplings are phenomenal—definitely a must-order. Shoutout to our server Dylan, who was delightful and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. I’d absolutely return and already have my eye on trying the Wagyu fried rice next time.
Heyyyyyy!! We came on Veteran's Day to take advantage of the deal, and our friend wanted to try it. I have never been. Eric was our server and he was great! We were NOT in a rush and the place was busy! We packed our patience and honestly, anything we were looking for came right on time. See the pics for what we ordered. Everything was seasoned perfectly with no need for adjustments. I think the ONLY thing I was a little disappointed in was the size of the appetizers. Otherwise, I finished my main dish (IYKYK!). I could not finish my creamed spinach. We lounged at the table and ordered more drinks, no one gave us long eyes! We enjoyed it! Oh the wine was moscato, the cocktail ordered was the guava berry. MAKE A RESY or you may not get in. It's a busy spot! There is bar seating but happy hour is popular so you might not get in. Also, remember the restaurant is in the same building as the Marriott. If you can, use the Marriott valet.
STK Steakhouse in Washington D.C. certainly delivers on its reputation for a vibrant atmosphere, but my dining experience offered a genuine high point contrasted with a subtle culinary letdown. The undeniable star of the entire meal was the appetizer bread. This complimentary offering is truly deserving of all the praise it receives. Served warm, the buttery rolls—often accompanied by a delicious blue cheese butter and pesto—were absolutely phenomenal. They were soft, rich, and addictive, setting an incredibly high bar for the rest of the meal and proving that sometimes, the simplest things are executed best. Moving on to the main event, I ordered the dry-aged porterhouse, a substantial and impressive cut that promised a powerhouse of flavor. The quality of the meat was clearly top-tier; it was cooked perfectly to the requested temperature and had a tender, rich texture. However, despite the quality and the dry-aging process, the porterhouse lacked a punch in flavor, in my honest opinion (imo). The steak felt surprisingly understated. I was expecting that deep, intense, nutty umami kick often associated with premium dry-aged beef, but it simply wasn't there. It needed a more aggressive seasoning or a bolder sear to truly bring the flavor to the forefront. In summary, STK DC provides a great vibe and serves a spectacular appetizer bread that could stand alone as a craving. While the dry-aged porterhouse delivered on quality and texture, it could benefit from a flavor profile that matches its premium price tag and impressive appearance.
Upon arrival with prior reservations made. The lack of common greeting courtesy can not be ignored.! We was waiting to be seated with no communication by the guest relations young lady at the front at the arrival. Finally, After being seated for over (10-15 minutes) with no server. I flagged down a manager to address WHY, are we not being acknowledged. Now, after that was addressed, a waiter by standing said he would attend to us. Thankfully Marcus was attentive somewhat. He was very busy with numerous tables. However we ordered, and the food wait time was ( excessive) to the point one of my food items never came. The food was very good, ambience was nice. Just poor service from beginning to ending. We were sat in the midst of bar/ middle of the restaurant. Not a good experience.
