So So extremely helpful. I spoke to many other repair shops and none said they would do it. Stone electronics not only said yes they delivered 200% on what they said they would do. The internal electronics replacements, the power supply repair, the internal chip replacement, the tape deck repair for the forward and revers. Any video recorder or player disc or tape they repair.
Joe is very knowledgeable, with plenty of experince with audio equipment, connections with other repair shops around the country to get rare parts, and with a really fast turn around. He fixed my vintage Pioneer Spec 2 power amplifier in just 10 days, and was very respectful and easy to communicate with. For comparison, some other store "fixed it" 2 years ago, but it started crackling in 6 months, and it completely broke down later and I was lucky didn't set my house on fire. I took it to yet another shop and after 8 weeks and 150 dollars they couldn't fix it. Another place I contacted said it just takes them 2 month to just put it on the bench for diagnostic without any promise of repairs. When I called Joe, he confidently said he can fix it, and he did so in just 10 days! Joe provides a premium service that is very hard to find in this age of lost art of fixing audio equipments, cares about the equipment as his own, and is worth every penny. I highly recommend him
If I could give negative stars, I would. All the way back in June 2022 my projector started color shifting in a way that I couldn’t find any solution for online. Having had a good experience with Stone back in 2013, I decided to make the drive across town. Dropped off my projector for repair and was told what the potential issue was. A month later I was told it was ready for pick up and that it just needed a cleaning. They took me to the back to show me the projector working, albeit with overhead lights on and projected on wood paneled walls. I thought I saw that the issue was still present, but was assured that was just the low quality video that was being displayed. Paid $350 for the repair only to come home and find that the issue was not gone at all. E-mailed them and was told to bring it back in. Dropped it off end of July 2022 and that was the last time I’ve seen it. I since have had to buy a replacement as anytime I call, IF they pick up the phone (rare), I’m always greeted with the same “what projector? Optima? Let me check and I’ll call you back.” You’ll never guess, but they’ve not ONCE called back. So here we are 3 years later and I’ve paid $350 to lose my $2,000 projector. I’ve tried giving the benefit of the doubt for quite a while, but it is evident that there is zero accountability or respect at this business.
A few months ago, I brought in my Fisher 400 when it wouldn’t power on. The Fisher came back sounding and looking spectacular. I love this Fisher and can tell Joe took care of it right. The pictures speak for themselves. Great to deal with him. Fair price. I’ll be back, though not with the Fisher since it won’t need it. Mounted a Denon 110 cartridge and in the past fixed up my Technics 1200 after another shop botched RCA cord replacement twice.
Joe is amazing! He did a fantastic job on my 1977 Yamaha CR-620 receiver. I'm very impressed with the quality of his work, his dedication and attention to detail. It's very hard to find a good repair guy who you can trust and who is located in your area. I've wasted so much time and money at other places, and now I'm very happy that I found Stone Electronics. My receiver had very poor bass, did some weird clicks from time to time and we did some recapping for the unit. I also needed to replace the lights to LED (I decided to go with a green color), and finally, Joe installed an internal Bluetooth. After a week of doing all the repairs, it's just like a new piece! It has fully improved sound, all the lights make it shine like never before and I can now to stream my Apple music. It's is a whole new universe inside of this vintage minimalist beauty! I highly recommend Joe, thank you so much for all your work!!! - Edward
