The staff is excellent. I've never had to wait for a table, even when I didn't have a reservation. Wait staff, servers, runners, floor managers - all pros. I've been a few times now, and my favorite is the steak frittes. The steak is butter soft, fries are thin and crispy, and that bernaise (sp) is smooth as silk. The cocktail and wine lists are good, and they mix great mocktails too.
Ambiance, food, service, & drinks were excellent. We had a group of 8 and we all absolutely loved everything we got! I am a French onion soup snob, and this was 10/10! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
I highly recommend making reservations, as Stony River Steakhouse fills up quickly, and for good reason. During our visit, the dining room steadily filled with patrons throughout the evening. The atmosphere strikes a unique balance: it feels refined and upscale, almost like a hotel lobby, yet still quaint and inviting rather than stuffy. Our server, Ian, was truly phenomenal. He was detail-oriented, personable, and professional, and his hospitality really elevated the entire experience. Service like his is what keeps people coming back. The food was prepared efficiently and executed very well. I ordered the steak biscuits with a side of crème brûléed corn. The filet was incredibly tender, and the biscuit itself reminded me of a classic seafood-chain biscuit — a bit nostalgic in the best way. The corn was creamy with a subtle jalapeño kick that added just the right amount of flavor. We also ordered the seared tuna, which was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the crème brûlée was traditional but featured a smooth white-chocolate cream that was especially enjoyable. While the food was excellent, what truly stood out was the service. I can’t thank Ian enough for the hospitality as it made the evening memorable.
Wow! Exceptional place to have a nice dinner. The staff, the service, and the food were all top notch. This is a true gem and we will be back! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a very nice dinner. The pricing is a bit on the higher end but for the quality of service and food it is very much worth it , especially for a special occasion. We look forward to our next trip already! We started out with their delicious bread and butter… it is unlike anything we have ever had and truly delicious. We got the steak eggs rolls for an appetizer and they were very good also and plated beautifully! I got the coffee-cured filet with garlic whipped potatoes, my husband got the regular filet with creamed spinach, and we shared a side of the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. All of the food was excellent! It was my husbands birthday and they made him feel so special with a notecard at the start of dinner. At the end of dinner they brought out a slice of chocolate cake and lit a candle that had another, more personal note, telling him happy birthday and thanks for choosing to spend it with them. The cake was delicious! Such a great dining experience all around.
Visiting family & picked this spot for dinner. Everyone highly enjoyed their order! French Onion Soup 🔥 Shrimp pasta 🤌🏾 Mushroom Meatloaf 😋 Filet & Biscuits 👍🏾 Crabcake ❤️ Our server was FABULOUS - broke down all the specials and helped us swap sides whenever we had a taste for something different. Items not pictured: a Mango craft beer was friggin' delish, the lobster bisque was super creamy, but the brie missed the mark (wasn't nearly as hot/melty as we thought it would be). Overall, 7 of 8 dishes exceeded our expectations and the restaurant is definitely worthy of 5 🌟!
