The quick take: Had a great time in our date night class, and will be going back for more. With more details: After getting curious about pottery, my wife and I started looking for art studios in the area and happily found that Summer Studios had different class options. We stopped in and David was very helpful and friendly. We decided to do a date night class as a way to check it out and see if we liked it. Sokkit (the dog) very politely welcomed us on the night, and then David got into telling us about the process. He methodically stepped through the process and explained why you do the different steps and gave great descriptions of how to do them. Then came our time to play with the mud... err... clay and throw our own pots. David was there to help us work through the steps and help us when we ran into some rookie concerns. It was a very welcoming and safe space to learn, and he made it a great date night activity. For our class, we got to make 3 different pots each. For the date night classes, David does the trimming, firing, and glazing, and then we get to go pick up the finished pots. I'm looking forward to seeing how they look after they get glazed & fired. We enjoyed it so much we are looking at doing one of the 4 or 6 week classes in the coming months.

We had such a great experience here! We took the date night pottery-throwing class with David, and it was absolutely fantastic. David was patient, informative, and made the whole experience so much fun. We learned a lot, laughed a ton, and left feeling so proud of what we made (even the piece that David helped save after it flew off my wheel!). We’re already planning to come back for more classes and to pet Sokkit (the dog) and talk to Momo. Highly recommend!

Had my first wheel throwing pottery class here with David. David has been really really patient and good at teaching you how to make pieces beautifully and perfectly! I’m pretty happy about what I learned and what I made over the 6 weeks! Pieces in this photo are just my first 2 weeks results! Some more is on the way!!!!

Really enjoyed my beginner ceramics course and the studio time associated with it. Can’t wait to continue and build on the foundation Yasuko has taught us. Very friendly and chill environment. Lots of ongoing courses for people to advance their skills.

My husband and I did a wheel pottery class for a date night here. Our instructor was Dave and he was a great teacher. He was very kind and helped make sure our pots turned out well. I was intimidated by pottery before this but my pots turned out a lot better than I expected. So fun! We are definitely coming back for another class!
