Finally, a place where I can get my caffeine AND existential crisis fix in one stop! Listen, I’ve read the reviews saying this place is “LA’s first tattoo and coffee shop” and honestly? Groundbreaking concept. Why has humanity been separating these two essential life experiences for so long? It’s like we’ve been living in the dark ages. Walked in expecting to just grab a Sightglass coffee (which, by the way, is *chef’s kiss* delicious), and left with both the jitters and a sick new tattoo. The vibes here are immaculate - bold decor, super friendly artists and baristas who somehow manage to be both chill and enthusiastic at the same time. It’s like they bottled up the essence of Echo Park and poured it into this space. Other reviewers have raved about how talented and welcoming the artists are, and they’re not wrong. The whole crew here gets it - whether you’re walk-in ready or booking ahead, they treat you like family. And the fact that I can fuel my “should I really do this?” internal debate with quality espresso while sitting in the chair? Priceless. This place has been killing it since 2004 for a reason. If you’re in the area and need either permanent art or temporary consciousness, Supersweet has got you covered. Bonus: It’s dog-friendly, so even your furry friend can judge your life choices in real-time. Can’t wait to come back for round two!

I loved the atmosphere here, the baristas, the artists, and the drinks! I got there suuuper early, and they were very kind about letting me hang out while I waited for my appointment. My artist, Julz, even started early because I was there, which was totally unnecessary but very accommodating of her. Everyone was great about answering my questions, and let my wife hang out while the tattoo was being applied. The actual inkwork was beautiful, Julz's portfolio accurately representing her work, and she was really kind through the whole thing, as it was my first tattoo. She really knocked it out of the park, and was really affordable to boot. While I don't think it's reflective of anyone I had the pleasure of interacting with, I do wish some of the general policies were a little more accommodating. The bathroom is inaccessible to anyone even if they're purchasing coffee, so unless you're getting inked, you're not allowed in. My wife was also not allowed to join me while I was in the back, which while I understand the logic stated on the FAQ, "crowding" in the back seems a little moot when it was late at night and no one else was back there. There's also no wifi even if you're getting inked, which made passing the time and keeping my nerves in check a little more difficult. Overall, I highly recommend this place as a beautiful little tattoo parlor with a myriad of talented artists. The inconveniences I experienced would not impede me from coming back for my next one.

I had the best time working with Roxy in bringing my tattoo idea to life. She executed my requests perfectly, and I ended up with such a cute tattoo commemorating my sisters and pets. The place also had such a cute aesthetic and friendly staff. I’d probably fly back to LA and get a tattoo here again :)

I chose Supersweet to be the spot to get my first tattoo (pictured below), and oh man, they did not disappoint. The entire process start to finish (gourmet coffee included) was phenomenal—my artist (Kellan) did a masterful job technique-wise while walking me through everything I needed to know as a first-time customer. On top of the experience, which I genuinely don't think could have been better, the art (which was a piece I designed myself) came out better than I had originally hoped, thanks in large part to collaborative design choices with Kellan on the day of the tattoo (including changing the location on my body). That interactive co-design process (especially before you put a mostly-permanent piece of art on your body) is what makes this a 5-star experience. I'll certainly be back for my next tattoo.

I had to move recently, and was reminiscing on my time with Supersweet Tattoos - I got 3 tattoos from them, all by Kellan, and had such a fun experience! He talked me through the designs and his vision, made sure I liked them, was patient, hilarious, and the process was over in the blink of an eye. Fantastic work, and Im sure I will make my way back to Supersweet for another tattoo soon. Thanks Kellan!!
