Sweet Secrets Sugaring Leaves A Sour Aftertaste Customer service issue at point of sale, handled poorly. The service during my only two visits was satisfactory. I gave this business two stars because their customer service handling was very poor. I was ordering on my phone and had items in my cart. I looked up to my laptop to retrieve the 50% off code, and at that point noticed a receipt from Sweet Secrets Body Sugaring and More. I had not submitted my order. I immediately called the shop to request a refund so I could place the order properly using the code. The staff member said the decision was up to the owner. She mentioned keeping the package as purchased and placing a note on my file to apply 50% off to a future purchase. I said that didn’t work for me and asked if a manager was available. She said the owner wasn’t available, didn’t know when they would be in, and didn’t know how to contact them. A short while later, the staff member called back and said she had spoken with the owner. She said the owner would keep the package as purchased and apply 50% off to a future purchase. I’m not comfortable with that, as even established businesses go under. I’ve emailed Sweet Secrets Body Sugaring and More to request a refund for the purchase made in error. The interaction left a sour impression, and I don’t want to support a business that appears to retain customers by forcing them to keep unintended purchases. **UPDATE:** **RESPONSE TO OWNER:** I want to clarify that I stated I would email; that direction did not come from the staff member. I was already on your website and partway through completing the message form, which I understood to be the appropriate email contact method, as no email address was visible at the time. Before that process was completed, I received a call from a staff member who stated that the owner’s decision was to keep the package as purchased and apply a discount to a future visit, with no refund offered. This was presented as the only option. I directly asked about a refund and was told that it was not a possibility. Had a refund been communicated as an available option at that time, this review would not have been necessary. I have since located the email address and will submit a refund request directly. UPDATE: As requested, I have now followed up by email. UPDATE — Response to owner’s latest reply (Dec 23, 2025) In response to your side note, I did initially request a refund -- so that I could repurchase the package using the 50% offer. For absolute and final clarity, I was told during each of the calls that a refund was not an option. The only option presented was that the original amount be left on file, that I make a new purchase at 50% off, that 50% of the amount on file would then be applied to the new purchase, and that the remaining 50% would stay on file. That is why I escalated the matter. May your day be as wonderful as you choose it to be.
