Since my son has been going to Sylvan Learning Center I’ve seen such an improvement in the way he learns. Most definitely recommend it!

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank the learning center for the wonderful work they’ve been doing with my child. I have noticed great improvements in his understanding and confidence, and it is clear that the patience, dedication, and teaching methods are making a positive difference. He seems more motivated and comfortable with their studies, and I truly appreciate the effort they put into making the lessons engaging and helpful. The learning center support has played an important role in helping my child grow academically.

I'm compelled to post an updated review after leaving Sylvan. We were actually encouraged and incentivized with "points" to leave a 5-star review. I'm sorry that my first review was misleading. In fact, Sylvan was really disappointing. I was told that my child would have one-on-one writing help without screens. Not so. She was at a table with a few other students working on a tablet, only writing sometimes, and no one was coaching her on proper writing technique. When I was told that we were "out of money" and needed to pay more, I remarked that I had not seen any of her work. Then, a frantic effort ensued to have my daughter finish her "paper," which had been in progress for months with nothing produced. I was told that she needed to come in several times a week to hurry and type said paper--but we couldn't come several times per week. I was rushed into getting my child scheduled to type this paper, which entailed my daughter sitting at a computer for nearly an hour each time; obviously, this was confusing and tiring for her as she is quite young. The finished product was a hastily written document that did not prove any real teaching had occurred. It was really hurtful and disappointing to be mislead about the writing program. We began attending another locally owned tutoring center that does not cut corners and actually spends one-on-one time with their clients, and my daughter is now performing very well in writing and has learned so much in just a few sessions. Not sure why this was so foreign to Sylvan. A refund, at least partial, would be great, but when I asked the center director, I was given another evasive run around. Sad.

We’re not sure why we didn’t pursue this sooner. After working with several other tutoring services and seeing minimal progress, a friend recommended Sylvan—and it has truly been a blessing. Concepts are finally clicking, and we’ve seen meaningful progress. Even my son’s teachers have noticed significant improvement in just a few short months.
