I am extremely upset by how this situation has been handled and by your refusal to issue a refund or reschedule my dog’s appointment without charging a cancellation fee for an error that was not mine. The appointment was scheduled for Sunday, 12/21 at 9:00 AM. All publicly available information for Temple of the Dog Chicago, including your website, Google listing, and service menu, clearly states that you are closed on Sundays and operate Wednesday through Saturday only. I was never informed that you were offering extra or exception hours that day. So, when I checked driving directions that morning, your business again appeared as closed on Sunday. I am new to this place. Based on that information, I did not bring my dog, as it made no sense to transport him in freezing weather to a business clearly listed as closed. I was charged a 50 dollar cancellation fee (actually no, it says $93.48). I did not cancel the appointment because I was under the impression you were closed, again. When I asked to simply be rescheduled, I was told I would still need to pay the cancellation fee in addition to the service cost, which is unreasonable. You also stated that I agreed to terms of service at booking, however those terms do not outline any cancellation fees. (Please see attached images). Additionally, you claimed that I responded to messages, which is factually incorrect. I did not confirm or acknowledge any messages, and I have screenshots documenting this as well. I am requesting a full refund. If this is not resolved promptly, I will dispute the charge and spreads through other platforms. Attached are images detailing my concerns. Addendum: I added the part where they said they’d charge $50, not the full price. And yes, I will be challenging it. You’re some probably does a good job in general, but terrible customer service. Bye bye. You’ll get a BBB review too.

We love everyone at Temple of the dog. Our senior girl of almost 15 is always handled with such care and in a timely manner. She has always hated being groomed but it’s necessary especially in her old age, I feel completely comfortable taking her here often because I know she’ll be well taken care of & she’s honestly never looked more cute! Thanks everyone!!!

Took my puppy here for her first professional grooming and I was very impressed! She was done after an hour and has truly never looked so clean! We’ll definitely be coming back

April takes good care of our dog for all his grooming needs. He can be a bit anxious but April is able to put him at ease, and gives a great cut - always following our instructions. She is friendly and communicates with us throughout the process. We appreciate Temple of the dog in our neighborhood!

Simply the Best in the Business! I’ve been bringing my dog to Temple of the Dog & Meow Lounge for over six years, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced this level of care, talent, and professionalism anywhere else. I’ve had dogs all my life, but Tara and her amazing team have set a new standard for what a grooming experience should be. My sweet Teddy used to dread going to the groomer, but now he literally skips in the door because he knows it’s a fun, safe place—and that he gets to see his best friend, Tara. A few years ago, Teddy lost his left eye, and I was so worried about how to care for his face and keep him looking like himself. The team at Temple of the Dog knew exactly what to do. They handled him with such skill and compassion, and he still looks like the handsome little prince he’s always been. I can’t say enough about how much peace of mind it gives me knowing Teddy is in such talented, loving hands. Tara and her team truly care about the animals they work with, and it shows in everything they do. They are simply the best in the business.
