We had a terrible experience with All Occasions / The 1978 Collection. We started working with them 10 months prior to our wedding, had our contract signed and deposits paid, only to have them pull out 10 days before our wedding. A few weeks before the wedding they introduced thousands of dollars worth of new fees and mandatory site changes that felt arbitrarily unreasonable, or at the very least should have been made clear to us during the previous 10 months of working together. When we tried to explain that these things had not been communicated to us, while concurrently trying to propose other solutions, the conversations quickly became hostile. My family and I felt gaslit and disrespected. During these conversations, All Occasions / 1978 Collection even hinted at there potentially being additional fees that would come after the wedding (!?), and that they didn’t want to have to fight with us over every new fee that could or would be added by their side. I thought we were being Punk’d. Given the tight timeline, we bit the bullet and tried to make it work, agreeing to pay a reduced total of the new fees. When it finally seemed like we came to an agreement, they cancelled the contract on us. That termination occurred 7 days before the scheduled set up date. We were completely blindsided and left scrambling for a new vendor the week before our wedding. They did not even have the courtesy (or respect) to give our wedding planner the heads up before us. Luckily, we were able to find a local vendor who was excellent to work with from start to finish. Not a single one of the alleged site issues or additional fees that AO/1978 sprung on us at the last minute were ever a concern with the new vendor.

Used this company for event rentals. The delivery drivers arrived at the wrong time, came with wrong items and without the order for setup even though it was discussed several times and paid for, and lastly, came over 4 hours late to pick up the rentals, leading to extra charges from the venue. Completely unacceptable. While customer service hotline folks were lovely, there was no way for them to communicate with dispatch.
