Starla is an amazing hairdresser who is perfect for alternative hair and haircuts. They have such a welcoming vibe and great conversation! I am so particular about my hair but she makes it such an amazing experience every time and I always feel so relaxed. They are so passionate about hair too and I couldn’t ask for a better hairdresser!

I was SO happy to find Jillian, the owner and founder of The Beauty Project!! She does a comprehensive consultation every time to talk through the vision for my hair, and she is a wizard! I have never left that chair anything but thrilled with how my hair looks. Jillian is also one of the kindest hearted people I’ve ever met. She started a foundation to provide beauty and wellness services for those who can’t afford it, passing along all her tips straight into funding the foundation. I have curly hair, and from the moment I sat in her chair, she took the time to really see my hair by walking me through my curl pattern, texture, and what would best suit my lifestyle. She explained maintenance routines, recommended products that actually work (clean products & shared genuine knowledge), and made sure I understood how to recreate the look at home. She explained how we would shape my curls over time (through upcoming appointments) and worked with me from the start. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by Jillian’s bright, contagious smile and offered a cup of tea (or whatever beverage makes you feel at home). Every detail of the space feels intentional: locally crafted goods, thrifted treasures, and cozy touches that make it an inclusive community hub for care and creativity. One of the most special things about The Beauty Project is Jillian’s model, which ensures everyone has access to self-care at any point in life.
