The place is nothing special but the people working there.. everybody was nice. In taste you aren't loosing anything on the pastry coffes or chocolate. Is laking taste.

✨ Okay, listen… The Butterwood Bake Consortium is pure magic. I walked in the first weekend of November in Pittsburgh, and it was like stepping into a late-night pastry wonderland where every cake, pie, torte, and delicate pastry is screaming your name—and yes, they deliver. Fresh, original, beautiful, and utterly irresistible. The vibe? Calm, chic, cozy… yet somehow electric. The neighborhood is charming, the staff are warm, and the pastries? Honey… they don’t just taste phenomenal—they demand your full attention. Every bite is a celebration of flavor, creativity, and pure joy. Late-night cravings? Solved. Dessert dreams? Fulfilled. Experience? Unforgettable. This is a kingdom of decadence, originality, and sheer delight, and I cannot wait to come back and taste everything I missed the first time. If you love pastries that are as stunning as they are delicious, do yourself a favor—run, don’t walk, to Butterwood. Your taste buds will throw a party in your honor. 💛✨

This is one of the most beautiful bakeries in the world. The cakes are all beautifully decorated and taste just as wonderful as they look! The bakery itself is an old compelan home with ample seating. Great place to come hang out, bring a date, spot worth a book, or bring the parents. They also have a great selection of tea and coffee.

Although the service was lovely and helpful, and the atmosphere is charming but a tad dark, I was not impressed with the desserts we tried. The chocolate chip cookie sandwich with peanut butter buttercream was our favorite but not a stand out from what you might get at other bakeries. The raspberry rose tea cake was a very good texture, but neither the cake or the buttercream had a very strong raspberry flavor (or much flavor of any sort), a bit disappointing as I love raspberry with cake. The browned butter blondie had a good flavor, but was very dry and crumbly, more than blondies I’ve had elsewhere. The price point was a bit high for the experience we had, and I know the price is driven by the use of high quality ingredients, but the end products were not as high quality as I had hoped for given the very positive reviews I’ve heard from other people.

A beautiful, dark academia vibe-y cake shop! The decor was so lovely. I liked that the cakes had floral accents on them and that they sell vibrant dried bouquets of flowers too. Cake-wise, they make great desserts. The raspberry hibiscus one was a dream. The soft cake, the dried pieces of fruit, the airy whipped topping - this was a treat. I tried an earl gray one too, and while I liked it, that one did have a bit too much salt (I think? Or just too strong of another flavor) for my taste. I recommend this place for the cool environment and the cakes, especially the raspberry hibiscus!
