Very disappointing. They do not deliver on what they present for their cleaning routine and schedule. I was told by the franchise owner and in all materials that they clean on an A/B rotation with wet spaces (kitchens/bathrooms) one week and dry spaces (living, dining, bedrooms) on the other for detailed cleans, and basic cleaning on everything each time. They actually split it into 4 rotations: kitchen, bathrooms, living/dining, and bedrooms. The area that is not in rotation is barely touched (for example won’t even vacuum behind a bedroom door, visible dust bunnies and debris), and the deep clean area still leaves much to be desired. I was explicitly told that they will only clean the underside rim inside the toilet on the rotation days- so despite paying for my home to be cleaned every other week, my toilets were only going to be cleaned once every other month. Rarely emptied the waste bins in bathrooms nor cleaned the glass on storm doors despite explicitly asking and it being confirmed this is part of the service. I can go on and on, but that gives you an idea of the shockingly poor quality and effort. The home never looked any cleaner after they left. They do not know the proper cleaning tools and products to use- ruined multiple white cabinets with a magic eraser, which they also used on all of my stainless steel appliances. On multiple occasions the cleaners arrived smelling of cigarette smoke, which is then what my home smelled like post cleaning. You also have no idea when they will show up. You schedule a day, and then you get a 90 minute window day of, which can change at any moment. Then you get an alert that they are on their way, which could mean 15 minutes or an hour and 15 minutes in my experience. The people that came to clean my house were always kind and friendly- some did the best they could given the “training” and products they were supplied with. I don’t usually leave reviews, especially bad ones, but this was so disappointing during a time that I really needed the help and hoped they would come through with what was advertised, that I’d like to save others from the disappointment and waste of time and money.
When I decided to hire a cleaning company, I initially chose The Cleaning Authority because their manager came to my home, explained their process in detail, and made the service sound reliable and structured. They use an A/B cleaning rotation—meaning the first visit is “A” and the next is “B”—where each focuses on deeper attention to certain areas while still cleaning the entire home. The manager presented an impressive overview of how thorough the cleanings would be. Unfortunately, that is not what consistently happened. After only a few visits, it became clear that the quality and professionalism were inconsistent. Some staff mentioned that areas—such as blinds or windows—had not been cleaned properly during prior rotations, and they would tell me they were “getting me caught back up.” This raised concerns, as the services that were promised were not being delivered. The professionalism issues didn’t stop there. Some cleaners made inappropriate comments about my family and our belongings, including remarks about us “spoiling” our son. That is not part of their job description, nor is it appropriate in a client’s home. When I brought this behavior to the manager’s attention, he was dismissive and never responded to my email concerns except to note that they would be crediting my account due to a broken item in my home. Additionally, if you request that certain staff not return to your home, he is unable to manage that properly because he relies solely on an app to determine which employees service which houses. On top of that, one cleaner broke an item in my home. While it was replaced, the manager’s response was unprofessional—he informed me they preferred to use Target for replacements rather than “some high-end New York store,” which was unnecessary and frankly quite funny. If your employee damages a client’s property, it is not your place to dictate where the client should or should not shop. Comments like that, paired with a lack of accountability and the arrogance and cockiness displayed on the phone, likely explain the high employee turnover. I am grateful that we have since found a new cleaning company that is professional, respectful, and actually provides the level of service they promise. With stronger employee training at all levels and a manager who understands communication, accountability, and customer service, The Cleaning Authority could prevent losing business in the future.
This was my first day receiving service from The Cleaning Authority. The team were great: all very friendly and accommodating. Considering it was their first time in my home, and it was full house cleaning (big house) I was overall very pleased with the work they did, and I am looking forward to my next cleaning in two weeks. Great crew: shout out to all three of them (C,C, and L'K).
It was awesome to come home to a clean house! My wife gave it a thorough inspection and was delighted that nothing was missed, including the bottom part of our kitchen chairs which is apparently very important to her. We are very pleased!
The Team at the Cleaning Authority is awesome, and they do a great job with our house. We've used them for a few years now, and you can't beat the value for the price. Additionally, we have a lot of delicates and antiques, and they are very careful around them. Last but definitely not least, all of their team members have been very personable and in a good mood. They do an excellent job!
