From the beginning, it was clear that the estate administration required careful judgment due to competing expectations among the heirs. Yudy Mallol brought a calm, authoritative presence to the process and established a clear framework for moving forward under Florida probate law. She focused on practical solutions, kept discussions grounded in legal reality, and ensured that decisions were made thoughtfully rather than emotionally. Her guidance fostered cooperation at moments when conflict seemed likely, and the estate was ultimately settled without dispute. The experience reflected a high level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability in handling sensitive probate matters.
I approached The Florida Probate & Family Law with a simple uncontested divorce case. My wife and I had already reached an agreement and I needed help preparing the paperwork and filing in court. I was told that, because my case was very simple, it could be done with the retainer and the process would take between two to three months. I signed the agreement, paid the retainer, and answered all questions during the initial interview. I thought that in about three months my divorce would be over. This was far from reality. After twelve weeks I realized something was wrong. I checked the invoices and, in addition to the retainer, the attorney had burned through another $1,500; totaling $5,000 in attorney’s fees. Worst of all, only about half the paperwork was completed. I asked the attorney how much work was left to do and was told “I cannot provide you with a number.” My feeling is that my uncontested divorce was going to cost between $10,000 and $15,000. I had to stop working this firm. Later I found out that Miami-Dade courts offer a Self-Help Program and for under $500 the family court provides the documents needed, helps to fill out the papers, reviews the documents, and files the documents. I wish I had known about this service before. It would have saved me $5,000 and three months of wasted time. Going through a dissolution of marriage was a very difficult time in my life. I needed to work a firm I could trust. A firm that would take care of the divorce so that I would have one less issue to worry about. The Florida Probate & Family Law was the complete opposite. This firm only gave me unnecessary headaches and used my money as a blank check. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Good luck during this difficult period.
I came to this firm scared and unsure of my rights as a father in Florida. From the very first meeting, they treated me with respect and took my concerns seriously. They walked me through the paternity process step by step and fought to make sure my relationship with my child was protected. I felt supported the entire time. I’m forever grateful for what they helped me secure.
Anticipating family disputes over my uncle's will, I consulted Jose Leon for probate guidance. His proactive strategy included pre-probate family mediation and clear communication that prevented a will contest. By addressing concerns early and transparently, he saved us from costly litigation. The estate was distributed smoothly without family conflict, exactly as intended.
I tried to get a consultation from this firm regarding putative spouse doctrine for my mother. I wanted to talk to an attorney to understand whether it was possible for our situation and since my Mom was uncomfortable calling an attorney herself, I was handling the reaching out to attorneys for her. This was the first law firm that insisted they could only talk to my mother directly and that no consultation was possible unless it was only with my mother. I've dealt with law firms before and have had consultations to discuss and understand what's possible before a retainer or engagement letter existed. It's concerning that a firm insists on speaking only directly with an elderly prospective client and not at all with the family before any retainer or engagement was formally executed. I was looking for guidance and clarity and could not find any when dealing with this firm. I would not recommend this firm at this time.
