I was born in Dominican Republic; Moved between New York & Colorado for two decades before finally settling in Colorado nine years ago to grow my family. I wanted to celebrate holidays and make an extra special 2nd bday for my miracle-rainbow baby, she was born Christmas Eve 2023. Long story short I wanted both of my girls to get bangs. That’s the style I chose, Me, their mother. The night before I walked over and asked about children’s haircut pricing, specifically asked for a trim and bold bangs for each girl (2yrs and 6yrs) and was told that it would be around $45 per haircut -the money didn’t bother me, seemed reasonable, considering it’s 2025 plus this area, whatever… I pay well over $400 for hair care… so I understand 🤣 But I also come from New York, where you can literally walk into a Dominican hair salon with $25 in your pocket and walk out looking better than red carpet celebrities… I’m so serious! No, I was not going to leave a review at all, because why even… However, I was having a cup of coffee and looked over at my oldest daughter whose birthday is in less than three weeks and realized, “wow I really paid for this and I’m not happy.” If they had told me that I could pay $80 and get what I wanted, I would have… or any price… really if you are going to a hair salon, you need to be prepared to pay whatever the service cost. (I hate when people try to be cheap.) Ultimately, I took my six-year-old and my two-year-old to get a hair salon EXPERIENCE, because they like to play princess and dress up and new moms, you understand the vibe… Maybe, I’m being too bitchy, but I decided to take scissors into my own hand! I actually gave my daughter the haircut that I wanted to… at home... in our tiny bathroom… So I just really hope that in the future if a mom asks for a certain style… like you know, in this case, I wanted blunt bangs? I think you should just give the girl bangs, or lo que sea que quiera su madre! Don’t be cooked by appearance, I didn’t go in looking fancy… I was doing chores and running errands… and it’s been a YEAR for me… Furthermore, I’m not confrontational especially in front of my children, and way too shy and soft spoken in person so maybe I was a little of a pushover… they did ask me multiple times if I was happy, but I also expressed multiple times “I want BOLD Dora the Explorer-type-bangs” and they just kind of laughed at me and did their own style anyway… even my daughter left saying “mommy those aren’t the bangs I wanted…” Deep breath… If you’ve never been here before, don’t let my one experience discourage you in any way… the place is vibrant with top of the line technology and tools. It’s super sleek and clean, smells fabulous and they have a coffee bar and music. Just KNOW what you want AND maybe bring inspired photo? I’m lucky enough to be from Dominican Republic we just naturally “be doing Hair in the womb” 😆 I don’t really talk like that… anyway so I can set my own hair in rollers (which a lot of hair salons in Colorado don’t even do)… yes, I am talking about the type of rollers that you wash and condition hair & while it’s dripping wet, you part & individually roll up sections, then sit under a dryer, that type… I also trim my own waist-length curly hair to avoid getting a style that I don’t want, and because well my hair is almost down to my buttocks… can’t touch this… lol… but when it comes to things like highlights I have to close my eyes and trust the stylist… or things like my little girls having a birthday party in less than three weeks and they all wanna have their nails and hair “Done”… we party hard 😆 I also understand maybe there aren’t too many people with the same hair texture as mine… that can go from super bouncy curls to flowy straight styles with nothing but the touch of a round brush and blow dryer, a lot of places rely on the use of relaxing creams, and flat irons, which is a big no-no to me… I loOove my curls but some days I love my straight hair too 😉
I’ve been coming back over and over just to see my girl Yessi! I got trust issues because of past experiences at other places and when I found her that was a wrap because she made sure I was comfortable and took the time to understand what I was looking for in my cut. She takes such good care of me every time I’m in and I always love seeing her and chatting with her as conversation is always on point too! She’s so personable and caring and professional. I’ll continue to always come back and have her cut and dye my hair! She is forever the only one allowed to touch my head. Period.
I went in for a color and style with the goal of going more natural, and I truly could not be happier with the results. They perfectly matched my natural hair color, and the attention to detail throughout the entire process was truly exceptional. My first visit was with Sienna as my stylist, with Christopher as the styling assistant, and the experience was fantastic!! My second visit was a refresh with Alexandria, the owner, as my stylist, and Rosemary as the styling assistant, equally amazing!! Every person I worked with was incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and confident, which made the entire experience feel reassuring and seamless. I really appreciated how attentive and focused the team was, while still being efficient and thoughtful in their work. The styling guidance was also spot-on, and I felt genuinely cared for at every step. Carmen is wonderful with booking and scheduling, so personable, communicative, and easy to work with. The Colorado Blvd. location has such an energetic, welcoming vibe :) From offering refreshments and ensuring comfort, to providing robes and protecting clothing during color services, they literally think of everything.l! Not to mention, Everyone is always smiling and chatting with both each other and customers, and they truly make you feel at home!! I love this salon and will absolutely continue to be a loyal customer for years to come!!
I have had anxiety about getting my hair done for many years now after a bad experience at a different salon and I have never dyed my hair before going to The Glam House. Not only were they so kind offering me drinks or anything else I may need during my time there but they were all very helpful to keep me from having second thoughts as not one time did I feel anxious. Lalo was simple the best at targeting exactly what I wanted and then some but hitting every bit of the picture I shared with him and even went on and one upped it by adding tinsel. I feel like a beautiful mermaid and my boyfriend absolutely adores it.
I’ll start off my saying the staff is really friendly! However I went in for a trim. I had really long, thick blonde hair and right from the beginning, I specifically said that I only wanted an inch off the bottom and some face framing. I said multiple times that I didn’t want any layers and that I was really worried about having my hair thinned at all. I was reassured many times that that wouldn’t happen. I left with very short layers in the front and horrible layers in the back. My hair has always been lighter on the top and darker on the bottom and it was as if she cut off half of my blonde hair and thinned it significantly. I was sobbing all the way home. I’m attaching images of my hair before and after
