I am seriously impressed with Alexander's skills. Hubbie and I have had a number of old favourite items sized down, in addition to new items that required comprehensive alterations. The quality of work is exceptional, but the thing I am most impressed with is his desire to ensure you get the best result. I had a dress pretty much remade & it now fits like a glove. We have saved so much being able to wear items that no longer fit. It's a huge saving over having to replace quality clothing.
I came here back in September to get a long heavyweight wool coat altered and wasn’t sure what to expect but Alexander exceeded my expectations! He was super friendly from the beginning and you can tell he really knows what he’s doing, based on how quickly he was able to eye the right length and show me the proposed alterations. Within only a few weeks (I let him know there was no rush), he had the coat length and sleeves hemmed. The quality was great and it looked like it came like that from the store! It looks a lot better on me now and I’m really glad I went to Alexander to get this work done. I think I found my new tailor!
I had an amazing experience at The Great Tailor! The buttons on my jacket were extremely loose and were about to fall off, but the tailor fixed them perfectly. They’re now very secure and the stitching matches the original threads so well that you can’t even tell they were repaired. I’m very satisfied with the quality and care put into the work. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to get my trench coat tailored to a smaller fit. Highly recommend this place 🫶🏻
The Great Tailor is absolutely wonderful! They installed a zipper perfectly on my wool cardigan—it looks like it was made that way from the start. I’ve been a repeat customer and they always deliver excellent workmanship with such kindness and care. I wouldn’t go to another tailor—highly recommend! 5 stars!
First of all, I just have to say that more than being a great tailor, Alexander is a genuinely good human being. He really listens to what you need and understands it perfectly. I needed a suit for an event, and he helped me through the whole process. I bought an off-the-rack suit after he told me exactly which size to get, and once I brought it to him, he worked his magic. The fit was perfect, and it honestly looked like a custom-made suit. I received so many compliments that day, and most people I met said how great the suit looked. Alex handled everything from the blazer to the trousers with so much care and attention to detail. Since then, I’ve been going to him for all my tailoring needs, from simple alterations to more complicated ones. He works with all kinds of fabrics, including jeans, and always gets it right. What I really appreciate about him is how he goes by feel, touch, and eye. That kind of natural skill and intuition is rare, and it shows how talented he is in his craft. If you ever need a tailor, especially for suits, Alex is the one to go to.
