We were sooo sad when our favorite restaurant, Viva Ristorante on Bothwell Street, closed permanently... but The Italian Kitchen is the next best thing. (I think they're the same owners, but not sure.) The food is scrumptious, too... I ordered an Aperol spritz with my fettuccine al salmone and insalata mista. Beautiful lighting and warm, romantic atmosphere. The only thing that could improve the experience would be if they played Italian lessons in the toilets, like they did at Viva!

Had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with my wife for lunch. 1st of all a special thanks to Federica the waitress who looked after us, she was really friendly & helpful, as gor the food it was delicious king prawn gamberoni to start followed by a chicken parma which was so tasty. My wife had the penne salsicia which again was delicious. Thanks again.

Went there on our Christmas night out. We had to preorder our food in advance. It was a busy Saturday night, and the waiters were just running around with the drinks spilling them over - that wasn’t nice. And we had to wait quite a while for them to bring our desserts. The food was good in general.

Really nice place to eat. Food looked and tasted great, staff where nice I would recommend a visit but I was let down by the staff when my fiancé wasn't given her birthday treat from the restaurant when I phoned and planned before us going. They confirmed chocolate treats for her. Didn't put a downer on the night but it was supposed to be marked with our booking. Hey ho. Place also automatic gives a 10% service charge
