I received a complementary appointment back in December, and it is THE best salon experience I’ve had! The staff are so nice. Christi, the receptionist, is so so kind and ladosha is awesome. My experience was filled with relaxation and EDUCATION!!! Ladosha educated me on different types of combs and the history of them, as well as black history. We talked about the books she wrote and her family. I spoke about where I’m from and my relationship with my hair. She spoke about the salons practicality. It’s a more intimate environment than just a hair salon. I love it here and willlllll return!

To me, it doesn't matter how much you know, how good you are, how much you charge, what products or equipment you have...if you don't do what I ask, then what kind of service is it really? My mother has been sending my daughter here for a while. I am just happy to have my children's hair done and I don't have to pay for it, but my daughter's hair has almost never been done the way my mother asks. It's an extra $125 to take down corn rows on a toddlers head, but this whole business of "doing what the child wants" is not where I would ever spend my money. Apparently, the braider does what the CHILD wants instead of the paying adult. OK, forget about that. Today, I took my daughter for the first...and last time. Before we left home, my daughter's hair was taken down, detangled and plaited. The braider tells my mother that she will charge an extra $50 for a detangling product and the fact that she had to spend 20 minutes detangling my daughter’s hair. We arrived at the shop on time and my daughter was not called for about 20 minutes or so and she had wet hair at 2 hours in, and she was sitting at the bowl for some time with no one standing over her laboring over tangles. But OK, Forget about that. My two teenage boys were brought in for hair cuts. I was very specific about what I wanted and you would not believe how I dried my saliva going back and forth with the owner, the barber, the braider, and my CHILD...debating as to why what I wanted shouldn't be done! I repeated myself over and over and over. I gave a picture, I said this is what I want and it meant nothing. The owner came over and philosophied to me about black hair and how often I would have to come back, and womp, womp, womp. I even stated that if I had been a father there is no way they would have all questioned me about what I wanted for my child. I felt incredibly disrespected by that and it was not acceptable. I was absolutely exhausted by the whole interaction. My son even popped off at the mouth about what he was and wasn't going to have done. The barber said, "I don't deal with conflict." I said, "There is no conflict. I am the parent." When I saw the boys' hair it was not done as I requested and it didn't really look like they had been to the barber at all. OK, forget about that. Never would it be MY money, NEVER AGAIN, will it ever be my time.

Highly recommend! I was able to book a last minute appointment. The salon staff were accommodating, warm, and polite. The staff walked me a thorough education session regarding the condition and quality of my hair. I got my hair washed, pressed and a trim. I was highly satisfied with the press and the overall look of the finish of my hair. I also loved That my hair did not puff up once I walked out of the salon and it stayed straight. I kept my hair straight for over a week. When I washed my hair, it reverted back to its natural curly pattern without any heat damage. If you’re looking for a professional salon with staff who are passionate about healthy hair and maintaining the integrity of your hair, then I would stop in for a visit.
