I had a bit of a bad experience in a dance school on merivale which brought me to the School of Dance. Nicola and Kay were terrific teachers, and dance classes were not only my time of leisure but also a development to my growth, technique, and skill in dance. I loved how casual the classes would flow, as there is not pressure to perform or compete, and all in all just be present to dance. I highly recommend trying a class =]

I had brought up a concern after being treated disrespectfully by one of the employees (Siri Bandhu) and the artistic director didn't do squat about it. Don't waste your time with this school, all they care about is your money.

A wonderful place that turns out dancers that are beautiful on the inside an out. I can't say enough good about this place. My son was in the pre-professional ballet program but he is now in the professional program at the National Ballet School and boarding in Toronto. I miss my son and taking him to the TSOD for his daily classes but I also miss the camaraderie and interacting with the other parents and students too. If your child wants to dance and is willing to train seriously, this is a fantastic place. Dance competition types will not be interested, they perform on stage regularly but do not participate in nor encourage such pursuits. Parents should be pleased -- no travel to competitions and no expensive competition costumes to buy. 2023 update - my son is now in his last year of the Upper School Program at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden, London. We still think of the strong foundation that the TSOD gave him. Thanks Merrilee and company!

A really wonderful dance school, I took ballet lessons here as a young child and then again as a teenager and I loved it. The teachers were enthusiastic and the in class musicians were superb. A great place to learn to dance!!

It's been great returning to the school of dance after so many years. I love the flexibility in class schedules and accommodations to offer classes by Zoom or in studio. Being in studio is the preferred experience- of course!!! :)
