I came here once, then it became a place I wanted to visit all the time. Its a true staple and a favorite of mine. As a steak house, they get it right everytime... At least in my experience. Everything is made with such flavor and nothing has truly disappointed me. I think the only thing would be that I wish they did a late night happy hour the last hour they close. The happy hour is currently 4-5, right when they open. It's absolutely an amazing deal. They have one of my favorite steak tartare in Seattle area. I think about it often. The drinks are stellar and the service is incredible! Amazing experience last time that I want to come back more often now. Anyways please have late night happy hour, I am BEGGING!! Update: still so delicious and love the happy hour from 4-5 daily
The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered two steaks—the Ribeye and the Wagyu Bavette—and I’d highly recommend the Bavette. The Belgian Tripel and the Malbec/Merlot were fantastic pairings. We also had the tartare and the mushroom sides, which were both excellent. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely come back.
Brad, Brad, Brad, you and the kitchen staff made my day. Beefiness: Bavette and hanger—connoisseur picks from worked muscles, bursting with primal, mineral beef essence. Mushroom Medley isn't just a side—it's an umami powerhouse, leveraging butter, wine, and yolk to refine and deepen the main event. Cocktail Appendix: Sazerac Pairings Sazerac with hanger/bavette or tartare nails power, depth, and balance. When Sazerac Meets Tartare, it makes me want to dance. Hanger's Umami-rich, mineral-earthy, light chew just makes a happy. In Details: Wagyu Bavette's Beef-forward, refined fat, supple plus the Spice-dry contrast allows Cognac fruit softens richness. Just go! Actually, I would love to eat there everyday next time.
We had an excellent meal at The Shambles with friends! The steak is 10/10 — one of the best I’ve had in Seattle. The starters and sides were also great. We had the tartare, pickles, potatoes, and a variety of steaks. We also enjoyed the red wine and a few no-alcohol cocktails. We sat on the patio which was lovely on a nice day. Fantastic service. There are a lot of great places to eat in Seattle and this place quickly shot to the top of our list of favorites for steak and/or dinner out with another couple. We’ll be back!
Coworker recommended this place but we are very disappointed. The restaurant is understaffed (3 servers including the bartender), food is so bad and in fact we got food poisoning from it. We ordered 19oz ribeye and pork chop. We came for dinner and we started vomiting at midnight in the hotel room. Pork chop is rock hard. 19oz steak is 97 dollars, for this price point we expected a better quality steak. Very disappointed. Not to mention the restaurant doesn’t have good air flow, the whole place smelled greasy.
