This was my second time to Pete's Eggnest recently. The food was pretty good, and it server was friendly. I had the Mexican breakfast to which I added onions and asked for a side of pico de gallo. The meal was tasty and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. However when we got our bill, I was a bit surprised at the up charges. The Mexican breakfast was rung up at $18.25 instead of the $16 on the menu. The very small pico de gallo side was $2.75. I understand an add-on charge for these items, but $2.25 for adding onions to a scramble and $2.75 for pico de gallo I feel is outrageous. There was also no mention about a fee for either the onions or pico when ordering them. The onions weren't listed as a line item so it just looked like I was overcharged. I asked our server about it before paying, and she confirmed what the charges were for and apologized. This crazy charge of $5 for onions and pico are unfortunately enough to make me not want to come back to Pete's Eggnest again. :(

Had Breakfast at Pete's Eggnest, it was delicious and flavorful, the portion size was also great. very nice vibe. definitely recommend

Pete's Eggneat is a breakfast restaurant in Phinney. It's easy to get to but parking around here is awful so be prepared to walk. Inside they probably have less than 20 tables total, and it's crammed most of the time. They can accommodate more than 4 people but it's tough for them. There's usually a wait, where you put your name at the front and then come back. Their menu is a good size, with lots of breakfast options plus a few lunch ones as well. Their food is delicious, with portions being huge for the price. The staff are so nice, and always around, but it's always busy here so they're constantly running all over. Their hashbrowns are great, biscuits and gravy are heavy, and their bacon is nice and crispy. Overall a really good brunch spot with a local vibe.

Visited this little restaurant to get some breakfast before my flight out of Seattle. They have a small dining area, very welcoming. The waitresses greeted us as we came in. Looked at the menu which they did have a lot of pork products but they did have turkey sausage, beef sausage too. I ordered the corned beef hash, and I have to say, The best part of that dish was the hashbrowns and oh my gosh their biscuits are yummy. Really enjoyed the biscuits. The eggs were cooked the way I wanted them. I really didn’t enjoy the corned beef hash, I’ve had better. Their menu is a little too pricey to me, corn beef hash breakfast that was like $20. I spent a little over $20 and my husband was thinking about getting a cheeseburger but the cheeseburger, I can’t remember it was either like between $15-$16. Like $16 for a cheeseburger was diabolical, so he declined. I really wanted some eggs so we decided to eat here.

I really wanted to love this place but our experience here wouldn’t let us. The staff were friendly and it felt like a cozy, family owned restaurant. I will note that we went on Saturday during prime brunch time, so they were busy. The food generally looked really good too. HOWEVER, our food was served cold/room temp (at best). Moreover, we had a long wait between standard events (sit down, taking our order, getting the food, getting the check, and paying). It looked like there were not enough staff for the restaurant. Moreover, it also didn’t look like tasks were being delegated appropriately. It might seem like I’m focusing on small events, but there were many things like this that all added up to a generally chaotic and disorganized environment. Also, the food was overpriced. Yes, this is Seattle (and almost everything here is overpriced). But this place was DEFINITELY over priced. I ordered a waffle (which was a good size but not that big) with two eggs and four sausage links. Total for that was $23 (before tax/tip). Overall, the experience was disorganized/chaotic with food served cold, and prices that were too high.
