Cozy listening room. No distraction from outside noise or a bar. Owner has superb ability to choose and book exquisite talent to perform. Sound techs are particularly skilled at balancing the sound so that listening is enjoyed.

If you're looking for an intimate place to see live music, this is the place. Every show is $20 or $25 and there are only around 150 seats. We've seen some fantastic shows, with some acts that also play the larger venues but choose this spot for its special charm and connection to the audience. The owner keeps costs down by not staffing for food and drinks, so grab a pizza and beer at Hop Garden next door or Pangea down the street. Sometimes we bring in our ice cream from Gunther's. It's a unique Sacramento experience that we enjoy every time.

RUDE!!! I just moved into the neighborhood and was super excited to find a small music venue nearby. My husband bought tickets online to a show and the tickets had a different address than the venue (2900 Freeport instead of 2900 Franklin). My friend and I were on a walk and popped in to clarify the actual location of the concert. I believe I spoke with the accountant, who was unnecessarily rude, demeaning, and demoralizing for no reason. Didn't I know that this place has been here for 25 years and couldn't I see with my own eyes the theater that was set up inside the building? After our short exchange, I left and he muttered under his breath, "Jesus Christ!" in exasperation with my question. I left shaking and really upset at the way I was treated. My friend, who was interested in possibly signing up for guitar lessons, said he no longer wanted to give this place his business after witnessing the way I was treated. What a horrible experience. It makes me so sad to have had this nasty experience in this lovely neighborhood, especially when I was so excited about finding it in the first place.
