Ms. Toni
I’m disappointed with my recent visit to Social House in Fort Worth. We arrived at 3:35 PM and were seated around 3:40, but brunch service was already cut off by 3:45 even though we arrived before 4:00. That felt misleading and inconvenient, especially for guests traveling from long distances. Coffee order issue: my cup arrived barely warm, with the Bailey’s shot delivered separately in a small cup rather than a shot glass, and delivered minutes after the coffee. The timing and presentation were off, and it detracted from the drink experience because my coffee turned cold quickly. Expresso Martini: served in a very small glass and topped with a lot of whipped cream. The drink was overly strong for my daughter, to the point of needing help to finish it. Shrimp and grits: portion consisted of only a teaspoon of grits hidden under greens and Cajun sauce. When we asked for more, we were charged $5 for an additional bowl, which felt excessive. Despite leaving a generous tip, the service and quality didn’t meet expectations, especially given our history with the restaurant. It’s disappointing to see a once-frequent spot decline in both service and value. If management wants to respond, I’d welcome a constructive reply addressing brunch timing transparency, drink presentation, and portion/deal pricing.
