Booked a spa day for 2 with lunch and treatments, originally it was a nightmare to book, pool was cold and steam room wasn’t hot enough. Spa treatments were lovely and the food was great. Let down is the customer service from the reception manager when the waitress made a mistake with the bill, she had to get authorisation for a refund. As this has been a prepaid method they required the card to refund, she demanded to write down the card details and would get to it later when she had time, I advised she was not allowed to write card details down which caused her to become arrogant, impatient, patronising and just rude! As I did not allow her to write down the card details she informed me I had to wait until she had time to do it. Appallingly handled and let down the “relaxing day” I had booked.
Booked a couples treatment; yet was led to an entirely separate room to my partner. This was extremely disappointing and defeats the whole purpose of why we wanted couple's treatment. Utterly bizarre and pointless -- especially given the room had two massage beds. Before treatment started I even asked for me or my partner to be transferred to the same room, however this was refused. The treatment itself was very run of the mill. Not pleased at all. Would recommend finding a different spa to any couples looking for a nice Spa day 👍
Disappointing Spa Experience – Lovely Venue, Poor Standards. I recently visited the spa with a friend using a voucher from Wowcher. Thankfully, it wasn’t too expensive, as the experience was quite underwhelming. Spa Treatments: I paid an extra £10 hoping for a more satisfying massage, but unfortunately, it was below average. Despite asking twice for a firmer massage, the therapist seemed to forget and the treatment lacked consistency and effectiveness. Spa Facilities: The relaxation room was cosy, with dimmed lighting, comfortable loungers, and egg chairs. Water was available, but the cleanliness of the glasses was questionable. The changing rooms, showers, and toilets were in poor condition—dirty floors, a strong smell of urine, and overflowing shower drains. After showering, I was left standing in ankle-deep water, which was frankly disgusting. The swimming pool was fine, with a depth of 1m–1.5m, although a quarter of it was reserved for children’s swimming lessons. I couldn’t use the jacuzzi as it was constantly occupied by large groups. The sauna was small (capacity for about six people), and too dark to assess cleanliness. Lunch: The set menu was disappointing. The tomato soup tasted like it came from a can, the chicken wrap was okay, but the sourdough with cheese was underwhelming—more like a starter-sized portion with a tiny bit of gem lettuce and dressing. The dessert, a chocolate “mousse,” tasted like margarine mixed with cocoa—truly unpleasant and I love sweets! Venue: The hotel itself is lovely from the outside, with beautiful grounds and plenty of parking. The reception and restaurant areas are well-presented and inviting. Overall: If the facilities were cleaner, this could be a lovely place to visit again. As it stands, the experience did not meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
Quite an incredible experience at Westerwood. I love their lobby next to the bar. Very nicely chosen and matched. Our room was good and spacious and had an open feel to it. The view outside felt something from Van gogh. Not to be missed if you are around and looking to lay back for a while. I do wish I visited their golf course though which I did not since we were attending an engagement and only there for about a day and a half. Would I visit again? Yes. For a relaxed vacation, a pit stop especially driving from London and golf.
Had a fantastic visit. Spa treatment was great. staff were very helpful especially dining room staff. Lucy Tracy and Louise.. We'll be back.
