Thirst is exactly what the Milwaukee book scene needed! It has a great indie bookstore selection with everything from the latest romantasy hits to hard to find indie authors. I love that they carry such a diverse range of subgenres like historical, sports, and LGBTQIA+ romance. The staff is incredibly kind and they always have the best recommendations if you are looking for a specific trope. Their events are also a blast. Between the book clubs and the midnight release parties, there is always something fun happening. It is such a welcoming, inclusive space on North Ave.

Absolutely loved my visit! I am ashamed I waited so long to finally visit but it was so worth it. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The owner is so knowledgeable and has amazing recommendations. There's so many options for every single trope. Age-gap? Got it. Enemies to lovers, of course. Mafia boss? Yes, please! Thirst has it all! Not to mention all the goodies you can get: stickers, pins, bookmarks, stationery, mugs, bags, and even shirts and sweaters! I didn't even list everything available. Thirst is literally a dream come true 🩵

kerrie is truly the romance book oracle. you can walk in with the vaguest idea of what you’re in the mood for and somehow she will find the perfect recommendation. it’s honestly a little magical. whether you want something sweet, angsty, heartbreaking, or downright smutty she just gets it.
