Amanda at Thorson Photography is amazing. We had our newborn / family shoot done in her studio recently and it was a wonderful experience. The photos are incredible, and the experience was relaxed, easy, fun! It’s very evident she knows what she’s doing and what will get you a nice photo. She’s also so good with toddlers and babies. My toddler (who is normally very shy at first) warmed up to her in about 2 minutes! The booking process was also very flexible and we could lock in a time/day at short notice. The studio was also perfect for our needs and we didn’t have to wrangle cleaning up toddler toys etc. and making sure the house was photo ready. The studio still has that nice home feel. Overall a really positive experience and we’re just delighted with the outcome.

Amanda at Thorson Photography is absolutely outstanding. My partner and I had a maternity shoot and I am just so delighted with the photos. I was feeling nervous about having my photo taken and Amanda made me feel so comfortable, happy and relaxed. The photos are just gorgeous and helped me feel more confident about myself for the remainder of my pregnancy. We will return for more photos in the future, and I highly recommend Amanda to everyone!

Amanda is amazing! She is professional but very personable. Our little one was a little cranky to start with but she was very patient - you could tell she was experienced working with babies. She made us feel really relaxed and read the room on the type of people we are and what made us feel comfortable. She was always really responsive to emails and questions - even setting a new date after we couldn’t make the originally day. We’ll be going to her for all our family photos!

The quality of Amanda's work speaks for itself but the reason I have gone to Amanda for multiple special occasions is for the behind the scenes care. She's professional but very personable so you feel relaxed around her, removing all the usual awkwardness of photo sessions. Where other photographers would be like "ok now I need you to smile so please act happy" Amanda is funny and charismatic enough that those emotions are genuine and not forced. Amanda was punctual to all our sessions, clear about the fee structure and turned around the photos quickly.

We love, love, LOVE Amanda. We have used her for our wedding, various family photos, newborn shoots and even a breastfeeding photo shoot. And they are all amazing photos. I first came across Thorson Photography when we were planning our wedding six years ago. Every time I opened magazines or noticed a beautiful photo online, they were attributed to Amanda - so we booked in to meet her and the rest is history. Amanda has this incredible talent to capture all the "in-between", candid interactions between people, which results in beautiful, authentic representations of her subjects. She's clearly incredibly talented - and as well as being totally professional, she's also just a truly lovely, down-to-earth person, which makes having your photo taken by her (even if you're camera shy) a really relaxed, unforced, natural and fun experience. Thanks Amanda for all the beautiful memories you've captured for us. I'm sure there'll be many more to come!
