If you are looking for a glute program in San Antonio that actually delivers results, Total Body Training is the place to be. I’ve been following their customized program since August 2025, and the progress has been incredible. The gym has recently added a bunch of new equipment that has been a game-changer for leg days and glute workouts. Since starting, I’ve noticed major "glute gains" too. I’m filling in my jeans much better now. I don’t get a sore butt from sitting too long anymore because I actually have the muscle to cushion it. And for work slacks, I had to go up a size to accommodate new muscle growth in my legs and glutes. The focus here is different than your typical commercial gym. There are no mirrors, which I honestly love because it allows for a total person-focused environment where you can concentrate on your form with guidance from Jean the lead coach and personal trainer, and mind-muscle connection without distractions. The community is also so supportive; it feels like everyone is genuinely rooting for your success while still focusing on their own work/program. Everyone’s program is truly customized and carefully planned with you in mind by Jean. And it’s, in my opinion, a decently affordable investment through TBT. TBT a rare find and I wish they had a gym in Hawaii so I could keep going in person. But as a new online client, I’m grateful to keep my fitness journey flowing by working with Jean. If you want a private, upscale gym experience without the crazy price tag, total body training is the spot. It has a really clean, high-end vibe — like Equinox but way more affordable. No phones are allowed, which keeps you focused, and the small group classes feel like personal training. You follow a 6-week strength program on a tablet, and it really builds you up week by week. I’ve been here for 6 months and seen huge improvements in my strength and physique. As a woman, I’ve always found commercial gyms uncomfortable, but here it feels private, safe, and exclusive — the doors even lock once class starts, which I love. Everyone trains hard without distractions, and the set class times keep it organized. Pricing is fair for what you get. No locker rooms yet but honestly, the quality of the training and the environment more than makes up for it.
I feel so lucky to have an amazing fitness studio like Total Body Training in San Antonio! First of all, I've gotten faster results at this gym than I've ever gotten before because of the unique training program, and I also feel more comfortable here than I have at other gyms b/c of the really welcoming and warm environment. The program is great b/c even though it's a group class, each person is working at their own pace. At the beginning of each class, you pick up a tablet that has an app on it that you log into and it walks you through that day's workout. The coach is also there and they're too checking on everyone, correcting form, answering questions, motivating you, etc. Depending on your fitness level or certain areas you want to focus on, this is all customized to meet you where you're at. The workouts are on 6-week cycles so at the beginning you start with lighter weights and less sets to get comfortable with the exercises, then you build up to heavier weights and more sets over 5 weeks, then your last week is a recovery week where weights/sets decrease again. I love how this cycle makes it feel like you're always learning and growing without getting bored. Definitely a total body workout! And it never feels like any pressure to perform which is refreshing at a gym. The gym environment itself is amazing. The owner, Jean Carlos, has done a recent remodel and the look and feel of the place is totally unique. The lighting is soft with patio string lights (so much better than fluorescent!), there's cool industrial art on the walls mixed with a relaxed nature vibe too, and even though it feels chill, the music is loud, which is great! Overall, the aesthetic really makes it feel like a special place and you know that the owner cares a lot about creating the best experience he can for his clients. One thing to know is that this gym's focus is on strength training. There's no cardio, HIITs, or bootcamp type of stuff. I really appreciate not having to do burpees or feeling like I'm going to pass out like I did at other small group classes. If you want to firm up, learn proper technique, get some high quality fitness training while being supported by attentive, thoughtful, authentic coaches, this is definitely a place you should check out. You can take one class for free and there's no hard sell. That's what I did after scoping the gym out on Instagram for a few months until I finally called. Such a great decision! You won't regret it.
