many store associates, stationed or wandering about, who are always willing to help out or give a recc! also many signs and notes on the shelves abt taste & source. unfortunately i don't actually drink so i can't confirm the suggestions qualitly, but i sure do feel more confident and helpfully served!
Very big selection of beers and wine and liquor. Trying to manage as much inventory as possible creates some difficult getting around when busy. I recently bought some beer, with a young lady, late twenties, early thirties, checking me out at register who wasn't very personable. I think most people like a friendly host, not some unhappy woman checking them out. Probably a good discussion item for their next meeting with the holidays so close, and competition pretty tough.
Will be posting on Facebook, no need for customer care number. Please read! My experience at this Total Wine location was deeply troubling and unprofessional. Shortly after giving birth, I visited the store to pick up an order. While I was there, an employee walked past me without saying “excuse me,” injured my foot, and then dismissed my concerns. When I requested to speak with the manager, the employee stated directly in front of me “I don’t care, I can clock out. You know you don’t have anyone.” Unfortunately, the manager’s response was equally inhospitable. Rather than addressing the incident or offering assistance, the manager told me, “You can call corporate and stop talking.” At no point did the manager offer a seat, acknowledge my injury, or provide any basic customer care. I ultimately had to request a chair and ice myself as my foot became swollen. As a Black woman, the lack of concern, the dismissive behavior, and the overall hostility made me feel discriminated against. I was calm and respectful throughout the encounter, yet I was treated with disregard and disrespect. The staff failed to provide proper service, refused to take accountability, and did not correct their behavior even in the presence of a manager. I ultimately had to hire an attorney. Total Wine was found responsible and required to compensate me for my injury. Even throughout the claims process, the company continued to show hostility and resistance. I hope that the resolution of my claim encourages Total Wine to finally take accountability, improve their customer service practices, and provide proper training to their staff to ensure that no one else, especially Black women experiences this kind of treatment.
Very nice selection of wines and liquor. Very clean & pleasant employees & cashiers! First time there literally 3 feet in the door & fastly approached by a manager for my needs. Went again & was looking for something specific and again another white shirt manager type not only corrected my inquiry but also proceeded to give me a full background & due to his knowledge what I should be looking for instead. Geez just help me find what I'm looking for. I don't know if they have to be like that or just overachiever tour guides that are required to announce their job accomplishments. Appreciate the help but a little chill in the approach would fo a long way
As far as selection and prices go, this store is always the best pick- by far. I'm rating 3 stars because part of the business also includes the classes and events- it's not just the stuff in bottles. My friend brought me as a guest to a wine tasting class recently and sadly the whole experience was really uncomfortable. The host that the store chose talked about his personal life and made bad jokes for almost 45 minutes before he even poured the first taste of wine. We signed up for a wine event- not a social event. The wines chosen were all good value and made the price of the class worth it, but the incessant bantering by the instructor overshadowed the point of the class. It's a 90 minute event and sharing wine with the participants definitely didn't feel like the purpose. Plus with all the extra talking, it finished a few minutes late and we had other friends waiting for us at a dinner reservation. It would've been great if we were tasting in the first 10-15 minutes, had a better pace, then maybe finished a few minutes early. That extra time on the end can be reserved for socializing between the instructor and the students. It seems to make more sense to spread 8 wines over 90 minutes than crunch it all into half the time because it takes so long to get the ball rolling for the sake of story time on the front end. Obviously the admin stuff like marketing for the app is required, but those boxes can probably be checked in 3 minutes. This store will still be the only choice to buy wine for me, but I hope the events can get handled better because then the whole place will be perfect. There's some upcoming ones on the calendar that look great. I'd love to bring a group of friends to try them out.
