I have worked with Tutor Hunt as an independent Economics Tutor for well over a decade now, amassing over a thousand hours of tutoring, and they have been consistently absolutely brilliant. Tutor Hunt has provided me with a lot of enquiries over the years and I have had the pleasure of tutoring people not only in person but also online which has enabled me to tutor my subject in many different countries. In recent years the ability to tutor online using Tutor Hunt's virtual classroom has been tremendously helpful. The system has never once missed a beat - it has been totally reliable. Tutor Hunt does take a commission but I think the commission is fair given the amount of work they provide, the scheduling, messaging and virtual classroom services they provide, the review system they provide, and the fact that they handle all the billing (via Switch I think). The Tutor Hunt staff have always been great, helping me out with anything that I need and providing guidance and advice now and again as required. I strongly recommend Tutor Hunt to high quality tutors - I hope to work with Tutor Hunt for many years to come.

Review as a tutor: Do get enquiries through this so works especially around the exam season. Biggest frustration is how high the commission rate is, 32% is what Tutorhunt add on to fees. So my £55ph is £81 to a student/parent! Very expensive charges for just being a platform, feels unfair on all. Recommend you do a few sessions on the platform and once have email addresses, arrange privately.

Years ago it was decent but now the customer service is terrible and they'll find any reason to decline you as a tutor. I'm a fully qualified teacher with 14 years experience and I decided to start tutoring again alongside my school job. It's been 10 years since I was on the site so I updated my profile and they declined me because I couldn't find a photo/scan of my physical DBS to send (I have moved house multiple times). I wasn't going to pay £65 for a new one when I use the update system. I sent them the details for the update system, which was renewed in June this year, but that wasn't good enough apparently. In the end, I did actually find a clear scan of my original DBS and uploaded it. But they declined it for being black and white 🤣🤣🤣- I asked them where exactly in their rules it says that's an issue and they didn't respond. Probably because it doesn't actually say that and they're literally making their 'rules' up as they go. Ridiculous. Additionally, as other reviews also mention, they've changed the way they charge, so tutors now need to charge parents a lot more to make the same amount of money per lesson - as Tutor Hunt take 1/3.

I am writing to provide a reference for Ashika who has been my son’s UCAT tutor. Over the course of their sessions, Ashika demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the UCAT exam, including all subtests. I have no hesitation in recommending to any student preparing for UCAT exam.

A Dr of Physics found Gary on Tutor hunt for me when I realised that my son was starting to struggle in his Physics A level. I had asked him to help and he sent me a link for Gary! To say he has helped is an understatement; I am so grateful to him for the lessons online, the detailed emails post lesson, and the resources and homework that he gives my son. He is relatable, competent and puts a lot of effort in to make the lessons relevant. He definitely understands the subject, and most importantly, he understands how students learn. 10/10
