Ultrabar is a nice club with a great vibe and a fun crowd. One of the best things about it is the three floors, each playing different music, so there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is energetic and well organized, making it a solid spot for a night out on F Street in downtown DC.
It was my first time at club so the entry fee was $20 and when we walked up to the security guard, he said originally he was gonna charge us $50 but he charged us $20 OK cool right. The other security guard forgot to put on our wristbands The other security guard was super rude And pushed us back into line causing us to bump into other people. And when it was time to check my bag, he just threw everything around. I understand you have to check everything, but you just don’t throw people’s belongings around aggressively like that Mind you, I understand security can be stressful, especially at a bar or club. I used to be a bouncer before I started working separately with a private security company. But it’s no excuse to be rude to people that are trying to have a good night. I was having fun And enjoying the overall music and dancing but when people were smoking in the club, I have asthma. I went to go step out with a friend and the security guard was rude when we were standing out there to long we where only out there for two seconds, and said that we have to leave and there are no entries back into the club. Mind you We have only been there an hour. I would understand if we were causing a disturbance to not be let back into the club, but I was sober. I didn’t even have any drinks The whole situation just got me pissed off because we live an hour and a Half and keep in mind it’s only the beginning of January which it’s very cold outside. We all drove up to DC because this club was recommended by a friend That has been going here for years. I have only been here one time and this is honestly, one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I went to other bars and had a better experience than this place.
We've been going to Ultra Bar for four years. We haven't been in a little over a year and after the experience we had 11/15/25 we WILL NOT be returning. We live about 2.5 hours away. So we always drive in, get a hotel close by and have a fun night at Ultra Bar. I can't explain the amount of disrespect we experienced this past Saturday. Starting off, we paid $20.00 to get in, no biggie. We went in and got three jack and cokes. $18.00 EACH.... Do I need to say INSANE!!!!! My husband struggles with asthma and with everyone vaping etc inside we went to step outside for a fresh breath of air. Just to be told no re-entry if we wanted to stand outside... So obviously we weren't done at the club but was just looking for a moment to breath, so we went and stood on the first set of steps off to the side so he could catch his breath. Not even two minutes standing there and a security guard came flashing bright lights in our eyes and telling us the staircase was not a meeting pool and that we needed to move right now or we would have to leave. He was extremely disrespectful and rude. At the moment we made the decision to leave... we didn't feel comfortable. We weren't some 18 years we are grown adults that they were disrespecting and using their "security" shirts as a means to be disrespectful. In my four years of going there I have never experienced a "No Re-Entry" nor the disrespect that was giving outside by the security guards and the inside security guard. we had even stated to the outside gentleman that we would stay right there ( right outside to the left of the club) where they could see that my husband just needed a fresh breathe of air and they stated it didn't matter we would have to get back in line and repay. We were extremely disappointed, disrespected and shocked. They lost our business and the business of our friends who we have recommended there over the years. I do not recommend going here... not after what occurred. I'm not sure if it's new management or just new security guards but it is not worth the hassle nor the overpriced drinks.... DON'T WASTE TIME OR MONEY !!!
It were me and my best friend's first time going to a club and they did not disappoint. It were super fun. With a total of 3 floors (that we came across) each had a different DJ playing a different genre of music. Highly recommend.
It's a 18 and up club which is overly packed. They keep some control but it's way too crowded. If you like crowd then this is your place. The music is good for most part. No real place to sit so be prepared to stand unless you're lucky second floor got beds and some benches!
