The book sellers were so sweet. They had a lot of books indie and traditionally published. If I ever wrote a romance or romantasy novel, this is the place to have it. I left with two books but could’ve left with more

Absolutely LOVE going here. It's such an aesthetically pleasing shop and they've got a great selection of books. I appreciate how supportive they are of local authors, BIPOC authors and LGBTQ authors. Carly also hosts some amazing events featuring those same authors which gives readers a chance to interact with the authors and buy signed copies of their books. Carly and Jess are both great with recommendations and knowing about what's new and what's coming up. This is definitely the kind of place you need to visit often! Update 2026: They've expanded the shop so now there's even more books AND more merch like candles and bookmarks and stickers and Kindle cases and T-shirts... And because the events have become so popular, they've had to start hosting at the Madrid Theater and the convention center downtown. STILL the best bookstore in Kansas City!

This is the most amazing cute boom store I’ve ever seen, coming back in May 2026 never seen anything like it so glad it came before the signing of my favorite author just so I could know where it was cause. I’ve never been here before in this city highly recommend to check out this bookstore.
