We were visiting Sacramento on Sunday morning in late October and dropped by the Sacramento History Museum. There were spaces available for the tour. We paid $30 per person and it included the entrance to the museum. Our tour guide was informative and we learned more about the history of the growth in the area, the challenges such as floods due to the rivers, etc. It is worthwhile tour if you have the time.
Fascinating walk beneath the old city streets. The tour guide shared local stories and it felt immersive. A little damp underground, bring shoes you don’t mind getting a bit dusty.
My spouse and I had so much fun on the Sacramento tour a week ago! I'm just getting to post about it now. Our guide was Madame Anne Seymour, in character from the 1800s the whole time. We loved hearing all the salacious and wild stories of the early days of Sacramento and seeing the old buildings. It was a fun way to spend an evening and learn a bit in the process. I definitely recommend it!
An amazing tour on the history of gold rush, humans’ greed, resilience, ingenuity, innovation, kindness, tolerance and team work. The tour guide ( Maria ) was a nice senior lady who loved her job, was knowledgable and had a strong communication skills. That costed me only $25 for the tour and visiting the museum. Parking was available on the street for $1.75 an hours using city’s meter.
Lots of history on this tour. Growing up in the Bay Area we’ve never been to this area. The weather was a little drizzly but the tour was fun. We had a 7 and 9 year old and they both enjoyed it. We made reservations online a week before and tickets included admission to the museum
