Very tasty food with apparently a regularly changed menu. We enjoyed the smoked salmon and chicken pate appetizer. The steak entree and chowder (filled with unshelled clams and mussels in the shell with a side of yummy bread) was rich and nicely cooked. The bar the kitchen is in serves good cider, specifically aspall. Service was a little funky but otherwise a great experience.

A brilliant pub with a great drinks selection. The Garstang are knowledgeable and friendly. We visited on a Friday, there was a fantastic Irish tradition session from 5pm onwards. Everyone in the pub was welcoming and the atmosphere was very nice. It gets quite busy but its a very well managed bar , with a lovely sociable environment.

Found this place inside the deers head. What a treat! Service 10/10 staff super friendly and helpful . Went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy concern too. We had the Sunday roast which was exceptional. If you are in the area this is for sure a great place to visit.

It's inside Deer's Head, without it's own individual signage. So just go inside. The seafood chowder is outstanding. Served nice and hot, as all soup should be served but sadly is rare these days. The shrimp in particular is cooked expertly just to the edge of being cooked. You'll want to try one quickly, as the hot soup will continue to cook them. The fish and chips also outstanding. A delicate and crunchy coating. Not greasy at all. Fish fresh and moist. The chips/fries are steak cut and lightly seasoned. Gotta eat those Irish potatoes at every opportunity 😁 And an unexpected nice touch- the booth had two USB charging outlets. Nice...
