We had a very close call with my pup over the weekend. I was beside myself and so nervous and worried I was going to lose my little guy who is the love of my life. From the moment I walked in, Deanna the receptionist/customer experience warmly greeted me, immediately offered me water and Dr. Singler came over to check vitals and hear about what’s going on. From check-in through exams and assessments, everyone including the awesome vet techs/assistants like Megan and David and a few others checked on us and communicated throughout. I felt so well taken care of and comforted despite a very precarious situation. Not only did we receive great care but I felt Dr. Singler was so forthcoming about what needed to happen to manage my expectations and show me the way forward, without trying to tack on anything unnecessary. He was so professional yet warm and genuine. I knew we were in good hands. Deanna was so lovely, making sure we were comfortable, offered refreshments and snacks to keep me calm. Held my hand through the night, basically!! Dr. Singler performed an extremely delicate surgery on my pup until the early morning hours which was successful and I was so grateful. From the photos he showed me I could tell he did really beautiful work. I was so stunned by the state of my dog’s organs from the photos and the procedure itself that I didn’t get to thank him properly at the time. The following day after surgery the day-doctor, Dr. Flynn, called for follow-up. Also very warm, super communicative, knowledgeable. Even informing me on additional details on my dog’s general behavior and precautions post-surgery so I was fully briefed. At discharge Dora and a few other vet techs whose names I didn’t catch were so helpful with aftercare instructions and making sure we went home with the right size cone for recovery for my little guy. A big heartfelt thank you to the amazing Dr. Singler, Dr. Flynn, all the incredible vet techs and assistants, and the wonderful Deanna who was filling in from the Clifton clinic. I hope it will be awhile before we ever need to visit VEG again, but I know that if anything were to ever happen the team at VEG Hoboken is there to help. I cannot recommend VEG Hoboken more ❤️
I cannot recommend the team at VEG enough! My dog, Maggie, came in with a bite from another dog. As an anxious rescued - Maggie usually hates going to the doctor and strangers. The team was patient with her adjusting plans to accommodate her anxiety and calmly explaining things to me every step of the way. They let me stand next to the table as she got stitches (to monitor my anxiety) to keep a hand on her and watch her be OK. So kind, so caring, thoughtful and allowed me to stay with her and now come home with my sweet girl. Highly, highly, reccomend.
The VEG hoboken team will find a way to place you where you and your pet would be comfortable while you wait to get seen by a doctor (which isn't even that long of a wait, typically 5-10min unless there is a critical patient because it is an ER) and all the receptionists are very kind and organized so we're checked in and out promptly. Always been so reliable and I highly recommend. My three bulldogs get the best care and I truly appreciate how you aren't separated from your pets. My positive experience with VEG Hoboken over the years even made me seek out other VEG locations across the country when we're out of town because I trust VEG so much and tell my friends the same. Thank you VEG! 💚💚💚
I wanted to come on here and personally thank Dr. Michael for his exceptional care of my baby boy Russo. Last Saturday our chocolate lab Russo needed emergency care after we noticed he wasn't being himself. We took him to our family vet and from there rushed him to veg because of a very high fever. Dr.Michael met us with so much love and tender care. As a fur mom who cant have children, I treat my fur babies like my children, because, essentially thats what they are to me. After some tests, all results were indicators of possible lymphoma. We brought him home on meds and steroids, but Russo declined very rapidly, ultimately forcing us to make a heartbreaking decision. We are grieving the loss of our son, but in the midst of our grieving we felt it incredibly important to acknowledge and thank Dr. Michael for his treatment towards our big gentle giant. Dr.Michael I pray that you are blessed with only good things and that God rewards you for the work you do. I know I speak for many when I say you are an amazing soul with a heart of gold and it only took one day at the er to realize that. My entire family and I are forever indebted to you for your kind and caring demeanor. In loving Memory of our gentle giant, Russo aka Sir Kensington aka Russi Berry!
If you want Compassionate, fast, and truly exceptional care, this is the place! I’ve had two emergency experiences at VEG with two different cats, and both were outstanding. The first was my cat Coda with seizures who is not good at the vet. The team handled her with incredible patience and skill. They listened, moved at the right pace, and kept her as calm as possible. I left feeling heard and supported. The second was my cat Staccato just recently, who needed urgent lower GI surgery. From front desk to nurses to doctors, everyone focused on what mattered: my cat. They never rushed or pushed anything unnecessary, explained options clearly, and acted quickly when time mattered. They even asked if I wanted to stay with him, offered middle-of-the-night calls, and kept me updated the moment they had news. Thanks to VEG’s rapid triage and excellent surgery, Staccato is recovering now. I cannot thank this team enough for their professionalism, empathy, and follow-through. If you need emergency care, this is where you want to be. The bill was close to $10,000, but it was worth every dollar for the speed, clear communication, and expert care.
