Cannot recommend Kevin and We Fix Macs enough! My 2019 MacBook suddenly switched off and wouldn't turn back on. I went to We Fix Macs the next day as a walk-in, and Kevin diagnosed the problem and fixed it within a couple of hours. Kevin let me know what the issue was and gave a quote for the repair as soon as he found it (there was an extra issue with the motherboard which made the diagnosis/repair time longer than usual). The price for the repair was very reasonable and certainly far cheaper than going to the Apple store to have my "vintage" machine fixed. Unfortunately, I had to use the 90 day warranty offered by Kevin almost immediately as I was unlucky enough to have the 1 in thousands of batteries that had a fault. After explaining to Kevin what the new issue was, I was able to bring the MacBook back in again and have another battery put in, which now works perfectly. What an absolute legend Kevin is! After being told by Apple that my Mac would cost £688 to repair and that I’d be better off purchasing a new one, I said I’d think about my options before making a decision. Thankfully, I heard about Kevin just before heading to the Apple Store and gave him a call after the bad news to see what he could do. I received a diagnosis within 30 minutes of dropping it off — and it was repaired in about the same time, for just £150! You can trust this guy. 10 out of 10!
I would definitely recommend this company! I was really worried when my MacBook suffered liquid damage to the keyboard. When I went to Apple, they told me it would take a month to repair and the cost was extremely high. Thankfully, my sister found this company for me. The repair was done within just 2 days at a very reasonable price, and my keyboard has been working perfectly ever since. I’m very impressed with the service and will definitely recommend this company to all my friends and family.
Highly recommend We Fix Macs and Kevin, what a unique living legend he is! Very knowledgeable, quick and efficient service, went above and beyond by teaching me how to wipe the laptop myself in the future should I wish to and did other time consuming extras which he didn’t even charge for! Was previously told by a computer repair company that my water damaged MacBook Air is not feasible to repair, if possible at all! It would turn on but switch off instantly when logging in and was stuck in a loop before I brought it to We Fix Macs, now it runs like new! Had an SPI ROM changed amongst other water damage repairs (very technical in my opinion). Especially pleased that I could pay by ApplePay and get 6 months guarantee on the repair! Got a great deal and I’m glad the laptop was able to be saved! Managed to get a selfie with the man himself but I won’t post that here.
I had a fault with my MacBook Pro touch bar this I was due to a tiny crack in the inside of the Touch Bar screen that was stopping it from functioning properly and as a result of this the end segment was missing. I took it down to the Apple Store in Birmingham who quoted me a massive £580 just to replace it. so I started looking for Specialists who could repair it but every one I took it to refused it as it is a very complexed and difficult repair to do. Then I found We Fix Macs in Birmingham and spoke to Kevin who said he could replace it as he has done a few more of these, so i agreed on a price and told Kevin I was happy for him to take on this job. he advised me it would take around 2 days because the part would have to be ordered in however it took around a week to complete the work. I was told because a faulty part arrived and it had to be quality checked and they were extremely busy which wasn't to much of a big deal for me. once the touch bar was finally replaced I got a call from Kevin for me to come and collect it. The repair it self was done to a high standard you wouldn't even be able to tell if it was replaced as it was clean tidy repair for such a complexed job. every thing inside the machine would have to be removed to get to the touch bar and some parts are even glued in which makes it all the more difficult and that's why no other MacBook Specialist wanted to take on the job. But the only thing that let it down a little was I noticed a Scratch on my MacBooks top lid which definitely was not there when I dropped it off. as I know my machine very well and it was in excellent condition even Kevin him self told me that it was a very clean laptop on the telephone the day I dropped it off to him. when I pointed this out to him the day i collect it, he was adamant that it was already there which made me feel very disappointed and that's the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It looked like the MacBook may have been placed on something sharp when it was being repaired that could have caused a scratch like this. I still do recommend Kevin and believe he is very skilled and experienced at what he does to take on these difficult jobs but has to be a bit more carefully.
